Sousuke Sagara

It's time to revisit Full Metal Panic! with a post spotlighting the main male character Sousuke Sagara, as requested in the shoutbox.

Most of these pics are either from the manga or the original novels with some anime art (including more character design sketches) mixed in as well.

Vega

I'm always happy to take requests on HFG if people have things they'd like to see.  This post is the first of two in a row that were specifically requested by readers.

Today's post focuses on the character Vega from the Street Fighter games.  This is the character that's also known as Balrog in Japan.  He is a character that seems to know how hot he is.  He doesn't wear his mask to hide his identity and instead wears it, in part, to protect his beautiful face.

The images in this post include not only video game character art but also art from some Street Fighter comic books.

More Itsuki and Kyon

With The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya re-running in Japan (with some new episodes even), I figured it would be a good time to once again feature the main male characters of the show.

Amongst the official art, I have included some doujinshi artwork, including a cover by previously spotlighted artist Taishi Zaou.

Tactics

Tactics is a manga created by Sakura Kinoshita and Kazuko Higashiyama. Taking place in Japan in the 1900's, the show focuses on Kantarou, a young man who can see spirits. Kantarou unseals a powerful spirit and names him Haruka, becoming his master. The two become friends and work together to go after other evil spirits.

As an interesting side-note, the creators of this manga actually made yaoi doujinshi (fan comics) based on their series. This practice isn't uncommon (the creator of Gravitation famously created some very explicit doujinshis based on her work) but it's notable since Tactics isn't considered a BL or yaoi manga.

Both the manga and anime versions of Tactics are available in America. Tokyopop is currently releasing the manga. The anime version, which aired on SciFi's Ani-Monday back in 2008, was released by Manga Entertainment and is currently available on DVD.
