Sweet Pool

Sweet Pool is a  yaoi video game from Nitro Chiral, the same company behind Lamento and Togainu no Chi.  Like those games, the subject matter is pretty dark.  This game, in particular, features some disturbing content involving blood mixed in with the hot guys and sex. 

Another thing that sets this game apart is the art style.  Some of the art is a bit sketchier than a lot of the art you see for games like this.

Static and Black Lightning

The Brave and The Bold is a series from DC Comics where different heroes team up for a single issue story.  A recent issue teamed Static (Teen Titans) with Black Lightning (JLA).  Their pairing makes sense given their seemingly similar powers. An issue of JLA written by Static co-creator Dwayne McDuffie even had someone ask Black Lightning if he was Static's dad. The pencils for this issue are by Howard Porter. 

 

  

  

 

I am currently infected with Haruhiism.

If you are asking me what is Haruhiism, Haruhiism is a contageous disease shared by those who love watching the show entitled, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Right now, I am watching the Tagalog dub of episode 9 here in the net.

Aside from the fact that the show is not aired according to chronologically, the other thing that makes this show addictive, like potato chips is Haruhi's personality and the members of the SOS Brigade. Who are the members? Let's just say, a humanoid send by aliens, a time traveller, an esper, the founder of the brigade with God-like powers and of course, the regular dude with no special ability... unless you consider narrating a 30-minute show a special skill!

What gives the certain "twist" to the said show is that, Haruhi has no idea that she has special abilities! Only Kyon (the regular dude/narrator), Mikuru Asahina (the hot time traverler babe), Itsuki Koizumi (the esper dude who likes to smile) and Yuki Nagato (the silent humanoid robot send by aliens) knows that she is special. Wow.

Aside from the plot, the characters, Kyon's narration, is the dance at the ending credits of the show that even the infamous Cebu inmants danced it! To those who are wondering what is the said dance, search it on YouTube. As of now, TV5 is reairing the show to those who haven't got the chance to watch it. Right now, I am waiting for the local broadcaster to finish the reruns. Haaay. The disadvantages of slow internet/no internet connection in your very own home.

On Analysis: SONA. LOL.

Una sa lahat, isusulat ko ang buo post na ito sa Tagalog para mas maintindihan ng mga Pilipino ang nilalaman nito at para di maintindihan ng taga-ibang bansa ang nilalaman nito unless kung meron silang translator na Pinoy, o merong silang program na naga translate ng mga mensahe. Magsisimula ako sa ginawa ko bago manuod ng SONA.

Nasa paaralan ako sa pagitan ng 11:30-12:00nn, naghahanda sa anti-SONA rally sa public plaza dito sa lungsod ng Bacolod. Di pinilit sa akin na sumama, ako mismo ang pumunta sa rally kasama ng mga kakaklase ko at mga guro ko. In short, wala kaming klase. Excuse kung baga.

Sumakay kami sa school bus papuntang lagoon kung saan magsisimula ang lakad namin papuntang public plaza. Una sa lahat, di ako naglunch. Nagwater therapy ako. Mabuti, na kumbinsi ko ang kakaklase ko na ilibre ako ng ice cream, pampatawid ng gutom. Pagpatak ng 1pm, nagsimulana na ang martsa papunta sa public plaza.

Mahaba, at minsan, nakakabagot ang paglalakad namin. Para mawala ang bagot, ilan sa amin ay naguusap, ilan gumagawa ng iba't-ibang paraan, basta matangal ang pagkabagod. Ang ginawa ko? Tumingin sa tabi-tabi. Nakita ko, bus ng Iglesia ni Cristo, mga tindahan lalo na ang isang carinderia na may pangalan ni Gloria. Biro ng kaibigan ko, dumugin namin yun at doon magprotesta. Sa haba ng paglalakad ay nakarating kami ng plaza. Nung tinawag na ang paaralan namin, pasok kami sa gitna ng stage. Wow. dun ko napansin na madaming galit sa "mahal" nating pang-gulo este pangulo. Napansin ko din na madami palang schools na sumama sa rally, kaya di nakapagtatatka na nakita ko ang pinsan ko na sa tabi lang ng plaza ang paaralan nya na tabi ng isang kilalang mall na tawag ay SM.

Di ako nakinig sa sunod na sabi ng mga pari. Humanap kami ng pwesto kung saan pwede kami ng mga kaklase ko na pwedeng umupo. kasunod nun, umulan. Pagkatapos ng Pambansang Awit, umuwi na ako. Gusto ko marinig ang sasabihin ng pangulo.

Pagkatapos tumingin sa mga rental VCD's at DVD's sa Video City, lumakad ako papuntang paradahan ng jeep. Muntik na ako masagasaan ng motorsiklo, buti, nagalusan lang ako. Pagbalik sa bahay, binuksan ko ang TV. Kambal sa Uma pa ang palabas. Naghintay ako. Sa wakas, SONA na.

Pagkatapos ng pagdasal nila para kay Pres. Cory, nakatulog ako. Hula ko, nasa state na ng katawan ko na kung saan, kung magsisimula na magnarrate ng kwento si PGMA, iiidlip na ako. Nagising na ako, natapos na ang pagyayabang nya. sa wakas, nasa parte na kung saan na magsasalita na ang pangulo sa plano nya.

Naging unang reaksyon ko nung sinabi nya na di na siya maging presidente sa 2010, sa wakas, tuloy ang eleksyon. Di nasayang ang pagod ng COMELEC sa automation, ABS-CBN sa Ako ang Simula campaigns nila, ang GMA sa paggawa ng isang malaking partnership sa iba't-ibang kumpanya, ang mga politiko na nagsisimula na ng kanilang "secret" campaigns at higit sa lahat, di nasayang ang magiging boto ng mga first-time voters sa 2010.

Ngunit, may malaking tanong pa rin ang naiwan ng SONA. Ano si PGMA lagpas 2010? Eto ang naging teorya ko.

a. Tatakbo siya sa congresso.

b. Haharap siya sa maraming kaso.

c. Maging isang kritiko sa susunod na pangulo.

d. Isang regular housewife na busy sa pagkanta sa Magic Sing o sapagsasayaw ng ballroom o busy sa panunuod ng Wowowee.

Di natin alam kung ano ang mangyayari pagkatapos bumaba siya bilang pangulo o pang-gulo ng bansa. Ang masasabi ko lang, abangan na lang natin ang sunod na kabanata.

Prelims is over!

After a week of panic review, preliminary examinations are finally over... for some my subjects! During the exams, I experienced a lot of first. Here's a list of these first.

1. Permits
- Seriously, why do we need this sort of card? Is it enough that we already paid our tuition fees?

2. Room Switcheroo
- I know it's common in College, but switching rooms after every exam is really, really, confusing...

3. Schedules
- Unlike High School schedules in which your teacher will just give it to you, in College, you must look for your schedule of exams! Bummer.

4. A Lot of Time to do other stuff aside from studying
- The title say it all, if your next exam is 2 hours after your current exam, then you have a lot of time to do other stuff plus, if you finished early, you have much MORE time to do other things if you find reviewing boring or if your bored from rereviewing.

Iron Man and Wolverine: Anime-Style

Two of the more interesting things to come out of Comic-con are the teasers for Marvel and Madhouse's upcoming anime versions of Iron Man and Wolverine.

While the Iron Man one doesn't give you any clue what Tony Stark looks like under the armor, the Wolverine one is a dramatic change.  It's a bit different even from the American-manga version.  I like the design, but at the same time it seems sort of "generic old-school shounen anime" to me.

Another Look At Jyu-Oh-Sei

Jyu-Oh-Sei was featured here way back in March 2008.  Not too long ago, I decided to buy the show on DVD and watch it in its entirety.  I enjoyed the show quite a bit with the nice combination of hot guys and a good story (although the last two episodes are a bit off). 

As such, I decided to make some screencaps of the series.  Most of the caps are from the latter half of the series (where the main character has gotten a bit older).  There are some spoilers in these caps, so be warned.

Someone who worked on the show must have liked the butts of the characters Zagi and Third.  Why?  Well, how do explain a short sequence in an episode where all we see is this shot of Zagi walking...
