SM Entertainemnt to Produce Hana Kimi KDrama!

The original Japanese drama version

It was revealed just recently that South Korea's SM Entertainment now has the rights to create a drama adaptation of Hisaya Nakajo's popular manga, Hana Kimi (also known as Hanazakari no Kimitachi e)! This isn't the first time the popular manga was adapted into a drama, Taiwan and especially Japan (pictured) has their own versions of this story.

The reason why SM Entertainment decided to get the drama rights for this series is that the popularity of the manga has reached in South Korea.

They revealed, “The Korean version will have a total of 16 episodes that draw out stories of hopes and dreams. It’s a teenage comedy with a cute, but strong storyline and a slew of handsome cast members. We’re planning to begin airing it this Summer.”

SM Entertainment is known to manage popular boy groups, namely, Super Junior, SHINee and TVXQ, thus a lot of fan girls started speculating who are the boys the wanted to see in the Korean drama!

The original manga is about Mizuki Ashiya, who cross-dressed to enter an all-boys school, Ohsaka Academy for him to encourage his high jump idol, Izumi Sano to return to the field once again because he doesn't high jump anymore. As she settles in, an accident reveals her identity to Hokuto Umeda, the school doctor and Izumi himself!

Izumi hides his knowledge of Mizuki's gender and tries to help her keep her secret, though it sure isn't easy as many situations land Mizuki in compromising positions that will reveal her true gender. The question is, will it be as good as the other drama adaptations of the manga? That is for us to find out in the future!
