In this very late episode review of Tiger & Bunny (I will review the next episodes in a daily basis by the way), we learned that Barnaby will celebrate his birthday and Tiger thinks that the reason why he was depressed yesterday was because of his birthday and so, sets up plans to do a surprise birthday party for his partner... with a help of Sky High and co. of course! When everything seem to went smooth sailing for their plans, a real crime happens, to make matters worst, their plan is to have Sky High pretend to be the mugger! Great.
So far, one of my favorite episodes in the series due to its cliche level of comedy. I mean seriously, that joke about pulling surprise birthday parties to one guy and some random unexpected event happen which is similar to their supposed plan is used most of the time and the end result of it unexpected, which makes this episode unique in its own way. Now to some of the specifics, Sky High really stood out in this one!
He stood out not as Sky High but as his civilian alter ego who tried his best to memorize his lines and do his best just to make this "surprise" birthday party a success. But like I said, an unexpected event happened in the city so, yeah. Sky High did his best and it was all wasted in the end. Poor guy. As to the other heroes, one thing I noticed about Karina in this episode is that it seems that she slowly grows a soft spot for Tiger and that she finally takes her job seriously and in some point she was pissed that she wasn't able to finish her catch phrase!
Now to the man of the hour, Barnaby. Based on what is happening, it seems that the joy of celebrating his own birthday was lost thanks to the death of his parents and even if her old maid sends him cakes yearly, it seems that he is not that happy. Moreover, he finally burst about Tiger's constant meddling with his private affairs! Depressed much? More on Tiger, he still continues to play the "senior" role between the two and tries his best to cheer up his partner even if he is not really happy about it.
The episode finally showed us the "suit-up" sequence of Tiger & Bunny. To make things epic, Saito gave the suit an upgrade called, Good Luck Mode in which during the last three seconds of their power, special armaments from their leg or arm will appear, making them cool in the battlefield and giving the possibility to intimidate the opponent! In simple terms, this power-up has nothing to do with enhancing their powers! Another thing that I noticed is the teamwork between the two improved, sure they still don't want to cooperate with each other but that's just what they are doing whether they like it or not.
Overall, it was really entertaining episodes that I have nothing to say about it.
