The website for Kanta Kamei and Production I.G's anime adaptation of Yumi Unita's Usagi Drop manga began streaming its first promo. The anime will premiere in Fuji TV's Noitamina block on Thursday, July 7 at 24:25.
In the story, 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi (Hiroshi Tsuchida) discovers a little girl named Rin (Ayu Matsuura) in his grandfather's garden while at his grandfather's funeral. Rin is the 6-year-old illegitimate daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility. A live-action film based on the manga is set to be released soon.
