The weekly Oricon book rankings revealed that the first volume of Hiromu Arakawa of Fullmetal Alchemist fame's new manga Silver Spoon sold 90,257 copies in three days, ranking at #4 on Oricon's comic list for the week of July 11-17!
The first volume of Silver Spoon was released on July 15 in Japan. Arakawa launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April. The story of Silver Spoon is set in an agricultural high school in the northernmost Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido. Silver Spoon is Arakawa's first weekly manga series.
Meanwhile, Hunter x Hunter Vol. 28 dropped from number 1 to number 3 and Gintama Vol. 40 dropped from number 2 to number 5.
