Weapon X: First Class

I liked the cover art for the Weapon X: First Class miniseries, so it was really nice that Marvel included textless versions of the three covers at the end of the final issue.  Below you'll find the three covers, all featuring pencils by Michael Ryan and featuring Wolverine with Sabretooth, Deadpool, and Gambit respectively.

X-Treme X-Men

Most of the Marvel stuff I read when I was really into comic books was Ultimate line stuff.  However, I did follow one 616 X-Men title for a bit.  X-Treme X-Men ran for 46 issues and featured artwork by Salvador Larocca. Among the hot guys that spent at least some time on that team:  Bishop, Gambit, Slipstream, Wolverine, Thunderbird, and Beast.

Today's post features a mix of scans from the X-Treme X-Men series.  Some are scans from the issues I own while others come from the net.

Gambit

My first exposure to X-Men was the 1990's cartoon show and one of my favorite characters was Gambit. In fact, I think Gambit was everybody's favorite character. Hell, my mom watched the show and loved her some Gambit too.

I don't know if it's the sexy accent or the dark, smoldering look that drew everybody to Gambit. I do know that it's a damn shame that they didn't even try to put him in any of the X-Men films.
