Special A

 

Special A is a manga/anime series created by Maki Minami.  The "Special A" in the title refers to the seven smartest students at Hakusen Private Academy.  The main characters of the show are the top two students, Kei Takashima and Hikari Hanazono.

Hikari has been competing with Kei since they were children with Kei always being victorious.  Kei has been in love with Hikari for years but she's too dense (and too obsessed with beating him) to notice.

The anime version just recently ended and it's one of the better shows I've seen in a while.  It's quite funny and I love how the cool guy is the one who has to chase the goofy girl (as opposed to the other way around).  It also helps that the guys are attractive.

The manga version has been released in the U.S. by Viz.  As of this post, the anime has not yet been licensed.
