The long wait is over! We have the first image of the upcoming Avatar series, Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Set 70 years after the Last Airbender/The Legend of Aang, it is about the new Avatar, Korra, a Waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe, who has just mastered the other three Bending disciplines and up to master Air.
Korra, unlike her predecessor, is a hot-headed, independent, rebellious and fearless teenager who is travelling around the world and ends up in Republic City, the center of the Modern Avatar Universe, this is were benders and non-benders alike lived. But even with this harmony, Republic City is also ridden with crime, with an Anti-Bender Movement gaining momentum. Under the guidance of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her training to master Air as well as confronting the dangers she will face along the way.
Nickelodeon Animation Studios will be producing The Legend of Korra and is expected to be released this 2011.
