OOO's Fabulous Combo debuts!
Sorry for the lame post title pun, but that’s the episode is about, the debit of OOO’s middle form/Super Combo, OOO Tajadol Combo (Again, it is supposed to be Tajador but Toei doesn’t know proper English, so yeah. Remember Latoratar?) and aside from that, we see more action coming from our support cast! Anyways, here it is!
The episode entirely talks about the relationship between Ankh and Eiji and how at some instances, they try to outwit or fool each other with their actions. In Ankh’s case, he lied that Eiji has Kazari’s other Tora Medal while Eiji did is that he never told Ankh that Kougami had his Condor Medal! But with all the lies and deceit, it all ended that the two having mutual understanding with each other that Eiji needs Ankh to fight the Greeeds while Ankh needs Eiji to get his medals.
This episode also introduces the teacher-student relationship between Date and Gotou. In this episode, Date lends his Birth Buster so that Gotou can practice using it and learn how to control its wicked recoil. To begin with, I love how their teacher-student relationship began. It was simple more as if how an older brother shows his younger brother how to tie his shoes or how to fly a kite. Can’t wait to see more of this relationship in the following episodes!
One thing that surprises me about this episode is Satonaka. I mean, she wore black and tight leather just to deliver the Condor Medal and the Kujaku Candroid and started acting like Lara Croft while she is wearing it?! Not that I am complaining but it is surprising unlike the time she visited Gotou with an import car and acted a little tomboyish! Kobayashi, you never fail to surprise me.
For Tajadol Combo’s debut, it was awesome. Asides that it added to the list of the Riders that know how to fly (current count prior to Tajadol’s debut, five six namely: Skyrider, Psyga, Blade Jack, Garren Jack, Kiva Emperor Flight Style and W CJGXtreme. Den-O Wing Form doesn’t count), its abilities are amazing, especially the finisher in which the legs for a condor’s claws and smacks it into the Yummy!
One of the biggest surprises in this episode is that, even if Ankh has four of his Core Medals, he never achieved a complete body of a Greeed, unlike the other Greeeds before him. Could it be that his body mutated due to the other Cores not found in his body for the past for episodes? Or is it because of the lack of Cell Medals? Or maybe, just like what the running rumor mentioned, the real Ankh might be somewhere and he is an Ankh created by the other Ankh’s lost 10th Medal. But hey, at least the we saw a glimpse on how his wings might look like which caused me to hum Final Fantasy VII’s One-Winged Angel!
Overall, one of the best Combo debuts so far and probably, has the most number of surprises, namely Satanoka in hot leather and Ankh still a floating arm. The action is enjoyable to watch and we saw the debut of the Shovel Arm and the start of the teacher-student/big bro-younger bro relationship between Date and Gotou.
On the next episode, we have the return of Kamen Rider BLACK’s first appearance look! No seriously, that’s how the Grasshopper Yummy looked liked for me, how BLACK first appeared in the series before he mutated into the BLACK we know. Don’t believe me? Here’s the proof... or just check this art book.
