The September issue V Jump magazine is confirms that Bandai Namco Games will release the Digimon World: Re:Digitize "digital monster-raising role-playing game" for the PSP system next year.
This will be the first Digimon game for the PSP. The price has yet to be determined. Suzuhito Yasuda, the illustrator of Durarara!!, is designing the characters.
The main character is a 14-year-old boy whose hobby is riding road bikes. Thanks to a certain incident, he is lost in the Digital World — the world where the data creatures known as Digimon live. (The Digital World happens to have a central tower similar to a building in the real world.) Agumon, a Digimon who breathes fire from his mouth, is the protagonist's first partner.
Bandai Namco Games has a online countdown timer that will end on Thursday.
