Za List: Lesson Learned From PR.

After years of watching Power Rangers, here's what I learned:

1. After morphing into a Ranger, the rangers will do a synchronize pose. Like they know where will they go after transforming.
2. Here's the obvious, they always win in every episode.
3. In case they will lose, a new Ranger/a new Zord will appear to aid the Rangers in their near defeat.

4. The Basic Ranger Battle Scene: They'll fight the weak goons, if they find them "endless" they will morph. Now they'll do the poses. After the poses, they will fight the goons. The goons fell, the main boss will fight them. They beat the boss with a special attack. The boss lost. The one who send the boss (Example: Rita Repulsa, Lothar) will use magic or any mumbo jumbo to revive the fallen boss into a large boss. The Rangers decided to use the Zords. The Rangers combined their Zords and formed into a giant robot. The robot obviously kicked the giant boss. The boss fell... with awesome pyrotecnics. The robot will do a pose. End of battle scene.

Welcome to Orends: Range!

Orends: Range is a blog created by me, UkiyaSeed that started on June 1, 2009 and this is my second blog, the first one rot down in the web, gaining many cobwebs and forgotten. Wow. That’s deep.

The name originated from my idol, Jeremiah Gottwald of Code Geass, best known as Orange. Orends is a pun of his nickname, Orange. Also, originally, the full name will be Orange Range but since there’s a JBand named Orange Range, I decided to turn Orange into a pun AND add this “:”. Hence, the name was born.

This blog has a tagline namely, “Everything Random that Comes From the Author’s Mind”. Yep, anything random that will come out in my head. But as the time goes by, this blog earned some staples, namely, Philippine TV Anime News, Reviews, and the like. Here is the list of segments this blog has.. which will follow after this Disclaimer note.

150-Word Reviews - Reviewing random films, series, etc. which is either extremely crappy, extremely good, or extremely mediocre in 150 words or less!

On Analysis – it is the only political segment in this blog. I will discuss current issues in the society.

ONEShots – in this segment, I will review the first episode of any show, hence the name.

Random Review – the only review segment that is out of the box. I will review anything I want to review that is not categorized in the Review section.

Reviews – basically, Reviews. Its sub divided into four parts namely: Anime Reviews, Book Reviews, Manga Reviews and Tokusatsu Reviews.

Ukiya Was Bored – is either an article or a video that alleviated my boredom. The article is something random that I think of.

Za List – simply a list. Nuff Said.

Nostalgia Trilogy – it is a trilogy of TV shows that I watched during my childhood, from the Power Rangers, Sentai, until Voltes V and Ghost Fighter.

Kamen Rider Decade COMPLETE – soon to start once the subs of the Kamen Rider Decade X W: Movie Wars 2010 film will be out. This is about the complete wrap-up of the Kamen Rider Decade series, best known for its concept and its plotholes in which I will try to connect. Boy, this will be hard. 


Cho Den-O Trilogy - a review of last Spring 2010's Kamen Rider Den-O Trilogy. It includes initial impressions that were written within 150 words and the proper review of each of the three films.

Gundam 00P


Gundam 00P is a side story to Gundam 00 that was serialized in Dengeki Hobby Magazine. It takes place before the events of Gundam 00, so the characters are different.  The story is essentially a light novel series.  Light novels are written novels that feature manga/anime-style illustrations.  Some of the yaoi stuff I've posted here (such as the art in the You Takashina post) come from novels like these.

Battle For The Cowl #3

The Battle For The Cowl miniseries comes to an end with issue #3.  The story kind of takes a dive in the final issue (poor Jason Todd) but Tony Daniel still brings the eyecandy.  This may be the last time we'll see Dick Grayson as Nightwing (especially with a new Kryptonian hero now using the name in Action Comics).  Well, at least until DC brings Bruce Wayne back eventually.

Legend of The Galactic Heroes


Legend of The Galactic Heroes is a sci-fi novel series written by Yoshiki Tanaka.  It's a huge space opera with a lot of characters and political intrigue.  Like Tanaka's other works, such as Tytania (which was written after LOGH), this one was adapted into an anime series.  The anime version is a bonafide epic spanning over 100 episodes with movies and side stories as well.

Although the series is held in high regard, not so much as one novel, anime, or manga adaptation is officially available in English.

All Wolvie, All The Time


The Wolverine Poster Book compiles many comic book covers featuring America's favorite mutant.  It's interesting to me how that character became arguably the most prolific character in the Marvel Universe.  A week without a book with Wolverine in it somewhere would be a complete and utter shock.

Beginning with the image above (and continuing to the ones below) the artists of these pics are Mike Choi, Salvadore Espin, John Romita Jr., Doug Braithwaite, Ron Garney, Frank Martin Jr., Jim Lee, and Phillipe Bouchet.

Brotherly Love


There's always something hot about seeing two guys together.  However, when the guys are supposed to be brothers, it skirts the fine line between hot and forbidden.  That's the case with these Code Geass pics featuring Lelouch and younger brother Rollo.

I don't know exactly where these pics come from but I do know that they were done by Sakou Yukie.  She was an animator on Code Geass and illustrated many pieces of official art for the series.  So, I'm considering these official until I hear anything less.  Besides, if that picture of Lelouch and his mother is official, these could be too.

More Saiunkoku


Before becoming a long-running anime of roughly 80 episodes across two seasons, The Story of Saiunkoku was a series of novels written by Sai Yukino and featuring illustrations by Kairi Yura.  Today's post only features Yura's illustrations.  In addition to illustrating the novels, she also did the manga version of the story.

The vast majority of the scans in this post were done by Saa-chan and you can find many more scans on her LJ.
