Power Rangers SPD Japanese: Jack Morphs!

With the release of the Toei Hero Club DVD of Power Rangers SPD, here's the clip of the Japanese dub of the show which features Ryuji Sainei's voice as Jack Landors aka SPD Red Ranger. Power Rangers SPD also airs at Toei Channel.

To be honest, I am used with dubbed toku since I grew up watching it but I still find it weird that I am hearing Ban's voice coming out from Jack's mouth, seriously. But when he already transformed into SPD Red Ranger, the transition was flawless and it felt natural in my opinion.

Power Rangers Samurai Toys Spotted in the Philippines!

After Power Rangers Samurai conquered most of Europe and some parts in Asia, its time for the Philippines to have the Samurai Power Rangers! Toys for the said series can now be seen in local toy shelves and it is still unknown in what TV station the series will air.

Some speculated that Samurai will air on Cartoon Network Philippines due to the show's history with that station, but my guess will be that it will air on Nickelodeon like how other European countries did it. Guess acquiring the license for Samurai Sentai Shinkenger is quite costly compared from getting the Samurai one.

Also, some other things I saw in the photo, I spotted a Ranger Key set at the bottom along with a Dragon Ranger sofubi. Makes me wanna wish that Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger will air in the Philippines!

Blake Foster Offered to Return to Power Rangers?

One of Blake Foster's latest photo take from his Facebook account.

Blake Foster, best known for his role in Power Rangers Turbo as Justin Stewart aka Blue Turbo Ranger recently attended a convention called, Anime Festival Orlando and a staff member overheard something interesting about this guy.

Here's the paraphrase of the entire conversation:

Fan: Are you going to come back to acting?
Blake Foster: I’m thinking about it. I’m done with school now.
Fan: Would you come back to Power Rangers?
Blake Foster: I’d like to. They’ve asked if I’d be interested, I don’t know if it’d be as the same character or someone new.

Considering that the next Power Rangers series after Power Rangers Samurai is undergoing open casting calls, it is quite possible, and hopefully, he will retain his old role as Justin and not end up like Rick Medina, Jr. who returned to Power Rangers as a different character in the form of Deker.

1. Beginnings Part 1「新生Bスクワッド誕生(前編)」("The Newly Born B-Squad" Part 1)
2. Beginnings Part 2「新生Bスクワッド誕生(後編)」("The Newly Born B-Squad" Part 2)
3. Confronted「真のリーダー」("A True Leader")
4. Walls「壁」("Wall")
5. Dogged「リック パワーアップ」 ("Power-Up RIC!")
6. A-Bridged「ブリッジ」("Bridge")

8. Sam Part 2「サム(後編)」 ("Sam" Part 2)

Interesting to note that they referred the Dekaranger cast in the episode summaries as a way to see the SPD dub. Another thing to note is that a small clip of the Power Rangers SPD dub was seen on a Smastation Special which talks about Super Sentai. In the short clip, we heard a short sample of the Japanese SPD dub which had a small nod for Dekaranger in which they first scream the word, "Roger" before saying the SPD morph call, "SPD, EMERGENCY!"

Skull Returns on Power Rangers Samurai!

As we all know, Bulk is now "training" Spike in the ways of the samurai in Power Rangers Samurai and many fans wondered, where is his father and Bulk's best friend, Skull?

In a recent event called Anime Oasis, Jason David Frank who is best known as Dr. Tommy Oliver aka the first Green Ranger, revealed that Spike's father and Bulk's best friend, Skull will be a guest star on Power Rangers Samurai for a couple of episodes!

Other things that he revealed in the event include the non-canon nature of the series and that there would not be any past Ranger actors to guest star in Samurai and cleared that Deker is NOT Cole Evans/Wild Force Red Ranger.

Power Rangers Samurai's Princess, Revealed!

We have previously reported that Kimberly Crossman is said to play the Female Red Samurai Ranger rumored to be named Lauren and just recently, the very first picture of Kimberly Crossman as the Princess has been released!

In this picture of them slacking off for a while, we saw Kimberly Crossman sitting on a throne with Brittany Anne Pirtle who plays Emily/Yellow Samurai Ranger wearing a royal blue dress while the rest of the boys are just posing for the camera.

In the original series, Kaoru Shiba is the true head of the Shiba clan and Takeru is just holding her place as her kagemusha to protect her from the Gedoushu. It is not sure how this concept will work out in Power Rangers Samurai since they never introduced the lord-vassal concept in the said series.

Also, in this link is a picture during the Power Rangers Samurai Season 2 wrap-up party with the cast members and some identified men and Alex Hartman's girlfriend. Currently, Power Rangers Samurai is on a break and will return this July 2011 on Nick in the US.

Shogun Samurai Ranger Instead of Super Mode?

Most fans are aware that the latest Power Rangers season, Power Rangers Samurai is copying its source material Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, scene by scene with some edits and to the surprise of everyone, the 16th episode of the series entitled, "Boxed In" didn't have the debut of Super ShinkenRed!

To those who don't know, in the original series Genta was able to make the Inomaru work and gave it to Takeru in which he transforms into Super ShinkenRed. In Samurai's case, they did a group attack on the monster and used a different footage for the giant fights.

Instead of having Super ShinkenRed, we have a Battilizer which transforms Red Samurai Ranger in Mega Mode (that explains the holes in the Mega Blade) into Shogun Ranger Fire: Red Ranger! According to the toy description, when in Super Samurai Mode, he is able to call upon the power of the Ancestors to morph into a Shogun Ranger. Based on what happened with the Mega Modes, it seems that they will reshoot everything that is related with the Shinkengers once they are in their Super Mode.

Female Red Samurai Ranger Coming Soon?

After Antonio aka Gold Samurai Ranger's sparkling debut in Power Rangers Samurai, fans are now expecting that anytime soon will be the debut of the female Red Samurai Ranger and here are the first set of rumors.

Take these rumors as a grain of salt.

New Zealand actress, Kimberly Crossman is said to portray the role of female Red Samurai Ranger rumored to be named Lauren or Megan. The reason why she is suspected to play for the said role is because of her following tweets.

  • Sore arms from Samurai fighting today - feel like I'm getting better, thanks to @LeeDonoghue for recommending watching Kill Bill!!
  • GOOOOODMORNING !!! another early start today - Time to show off my Samurai skills.....
  • So sore already... yikkeesss still all afternoon to go - need to work on my fitness and strength - this sword fighting is killing me!

Take note that Paul Schrier and Rick Medina's involvement with Power Rangers Samurai was first hinted via their respective Facebook status messages, in her case via Twitter. Also, Hector David, Jr. who plays the role of Mike aka Green Samurai Ranger also mentioned on Twitter that filming for the series is still on-going while stunt actor, Namihei Koshinge posted on his blog that he is filming for Power Rangers' last episode.

Because of this, fans believed that the second season will use the Goseiger footage or pull another Zyu2 in which they used the Dairanger mecha and weapons and retain the Zyuranger suits.

Power Rangers SPD Japanese Trailer!

As confirmed a few weeks ago, Power Rangers SPD will be dubbed in Japanese and will air on Japan's TOEI Channel this Summer. It is for the celebration of Super Sentai's 35th Anniversary.

Adapted from Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, the dubbed Power Rangers SPD will feature to voices of the former Dekaranger team on their SPD counterparts: Ryuji Sainei, Tsuyoshi Hayashi Yousuke Ito, Ayumi Kinoshita, Mika Kikuchi, Tomokazu Yoshida and Tetsu Inada.

Instead of Mako Ishino voicing her Power Rangers counterpart, Rie Tanaka (Gundam SEED) will be the one voicing Doctor Katherine "Kat" Manx while Ishino is doing the show's opening narration.

Power Rangers SPD is set to air on Toei Channel this August 2011. Accordingly, this will be the first Power Rangers series to air in the said channel!

Power Rangers SPD Airs in Japan!

In commemoration of Super Sentai's 35th Anniversary, Toei Channel will air Power Rangers SPD, dubbed in Japanese! The last time a Power Rangers series was dubbed and aired in Japan was Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.

Ryuji Sainei, Tsuyoshi Hayashi Yousuke Ito, Ayumi Kinoshita, Mika Kikuchi, Tomokazu Yoshida and Tetsu Inada will do the voices of their Power Rangers counterparts, namely: Jack Landors/SPD Red Ranger, Sky Tate/SPD Blue Ranger, Bridge Carson/SPD Green Ranger, Z Delgado/SPD Yellow Ranger, Syd Drew/SPD Pink Ranger, Sam/SPD Omega Ranger (Wonder how will he react after he learns that he is a ball of light?) and Anubis "Doggie" Cruger/SPD Shadow Ranger.

Instead of Mako Ishino voicing her Power Rangers counterpart, Rie Tanaka (Gundam SEED) will be the one voicing Doctor Katherine "Kat" Manx while Ishino is doing the show's opening narration.

Power Rangers SPD takes place in the year 2025, after Earth has welcomed alien beings to live peacefully with the human race. But peace is short lived, as the planet-conquering Troobian Empire turns its destructive attention to Earth. When the Earth's first line of defense, the S.P.D. A-Squad, vanishes without trace, the protection of the planet falls to their replacements: the B-Squad Rangers, and their dog-like alien commander, Anubis "Doggie" Cruger.

When two reformed thieves join the team as the Red and Yellow S.P.D. Rangers, tensions threaten to tear them apart. With the alien threat growing stronger every moment, the Rangers must put aside their differences and go into action as one. Using teamwork, intergalactic weaponry and light-speed Zord vehicles to battle evil, they unite to become one of the ultimate forces for good: Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta.

Power Rangers SPD is set to air this August 2011 on Toei Channel. Accordingly, this will be the first Power Rangers show airing in the said channel! Hopefully, either Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder or RPM will air next!

Antonio, The Gold Samurai Ranger!

Its been months since Power Rangers Samurai aired in the US and a lot of fans wondered when we will see the team's sixth Ranger? Just recently, the latest episode guides of the said series has been released and it is revealed that the sixth Ranger, the Gold Samurai Ranger is named Antonio (played by Steven Skyler)!

Originally named Wesley in the casting sheets, unlike his Super Sentai counterpart, Genta Umemori who is a sushi vendor, Antonio here is a traveling fisherman, a good way to explain ShinkenGold's fish motif.

Anyways, here is the episode guide which talks about this traveling fisherman that owns the Squid Folding Zord and the Claw Folding Zord.

A traveling fisherman named Antonio arrives and claims to be the sixth Samurai Ranger.

12 - Room For One More (Airs May 8, 2011)

When a Nighlok steals people’s spirits, including the Yellow Ranger’s, the other Rangers must defeat him before his victims fall into an eternal sleep.

The Titanium Ranger April Fool's Joke Secrets Finally Revealed!

Remember the post that I made during April 1st about Titanium Ranger appearing on Gokaiger and later edited it that it was an April Fool's Joke after a couple of people pointed out that it might be a prank? Well, Lavender Ranger, the owner of Henshin Grid (one of our news sources) has just admitted that he is the one behind it! How he pulled it? Here's how:

Step 1: Cropped the image of the Titanium Ranger on top of a building.

Step 2: The beach background came from the scan of Dagon's scan of Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle.

Step 3: As for the text, it came from various Gokaiger image scans.

Step 4: Apply some blurs, remove the unnecessary areas, don't fix the lighting (but if you want a more realistic look, do it) and ta da! Here's the end result.

Wow. I sounded like I am writing a Photoshop tutorial! Anyways, kudos to Lavender Ranger for cooking this really epic April Fool's Day image. Special thanks to Gideon for doing each step-by-step image on how Lavender Ranger did this one hell of a prank that caused me to go crazy last April 1st!

Titanium Ranger Appears on Gokaiger?!

As we all know, Power Rangers left quite a lasting impact on Super Sentai that DekaRed wore SPD B-Squad Red Ranger's Battilizer in Magiranger vs. Dekaranger. Just recently, a new blurred scan has surfaced online, and it seems that they will import another Power Rangers original in the form of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue's Titanium Ranger.

It is not sure how would the Titanium Ranger suit will appear in the series but since this suit came in from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, it is safe to assume that it might appear on the show's Kyukyu Sentai GoGo-V tribute episode.

Because this is a Power Rangers original, this suit only appeared in a handful of episodes with his alter ego, Ryan Mitchell doing most work as a Ranger outside of this suit. Since this is an original Ranger, the AI operated robot, LinerBoy was given to Titanium Ranger with an original cockpit scene being filmed with this Ranger on board.

Anyways, here is the original Titanium Ranger in action. So what will they call this suit, GoSilver?

This would not be the last time that Power Rangers will create an original group of Rangers. Other original Rangers include the SPD A-Squad Rangers from Power Rangers SPD and the Spirit Rangers from Power Rangers Jungle Fury.

EDIT: Turned out to be yet another April Fool's Joke. CURSE YOU, APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!

Power Rangers: Samurai 3rd Opening Sequence

Here's the third opening sequence of Power Rangers: Samurai that debuted on the show's 8th episode called, Forest For the Trees. In this new sequence, they added Rick Medina (Power Rangers Wild Force's Cole Evans/Red Wild Force Ranger) in the scene and credit him as Deker!

This isn't the first time that an old Power Ranger cast member played a different character for the franchise. Namely, John Tui played Anubis "Doggie" Cruger/SPD Shadow Ranger in Power Rangers SPD and later played Daggeron/Solaris Knight. Heck, even in this season we have Rene Naufahu who once played Emperor Grumm from Power Rangers SPD and now plays Mentor Ji in this season.

Power Rangers Samurai's Army of Promo Videos!

It seems that Saban is doing quite a heck of a job in promoting Power Rangers Samurai! Asides from the Samurai Rangers appearing in Good Day in LA, just recently, four clips coming from the first episode of the show, The Team Unites has surfaced the web and yep, it pretty much confirms that this episode is based on Samurai Sentai Shinkenger's Act 3!

Pretty much screams the time Jii is looking for Chiaki for him to force him practice writing... and the fact that he played on an arcade!

Ugh, the puns! The puns! Oh, more ShinkenGreen awesome stock footage!

Still has the same badass effect like that of Act 3. Still epic.

And they are right, the Mega Ranger Mode is Megazord exclusive. Aw, no love for the traditional Japanese-themed cockpit?

And also, some toy commercials for the Switch Morphin' Action Figures and for the DX Samurai Megazord!

Coolest. Toy. Commerical. Ever.

It's like the ShinkenOh, except its cheaper and doesn't look that good compared to the original Japanese toy! But hey, at least they are not producing toys not seen in the series!
