Maaya Sakamoto & Kenichi Suzumura, Now Married


It's been announced that singer/voice actress Maaya Sakamoto (Evangelion, Ouran High School Host Club, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Escaflowne, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children) and voice actor Kenichi Suzumura (Kamen Rider Den-O, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, D.Gray-man, Ouran High School Host Club, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children) got married on August 8th.


Sakamoto stated, "In my life, I’ve always prioritized what I love, what made me happy and comfortable, and tied them to my future. Therefore, even with marriage, it’s something I wanted from the bottom of my heart, so I responded to those feelings." She continued, "When I’m with Mr. Suzumura, I feel calm. He is a kind person. For me to sing, act, and live as myself from here on, it’s hopeful to have a reliable partner by my side. Please watch over us warmly."

Meanwhile, Suzumura commented, "I am given strength to be with a woman that’s full of intelligence and energy. I’m already a merry person, but I laugh even more with her. She is an irreplaceable person who I love to spend time with."

He also wrote, "It’s been 17 years since I started voice acting. With this work, it is necessary to have many feelings. The moment my heart is moved in my day-to-day life turn to provisions, and it changes my expressions. I am certain that my new life will bring more provisions. What kind of things are awaiting me? What kind of expressions and emotions will I encounter? For a happy future, I will do my best to live as myself. I will do my best to deliver that happiness to someone with my expressions."

To those who still don't have the idea who they are, to put it simply, Aerith and Zack of Final Fantasy VII got married, or Lunamaria and Shinn of Gundam SEED got married and to Ouran High fans, Haruhi married Hikaru! From all of us here, congratulations!

Kamen Rider Fourze Opening Theme, Confirmed


The name of Kamen Rider Fourze's theme song is now confirmed! Amazon Japan lists the single called, "Switch On!" under Kamen Rider Fourze. The single is to be released this October 26th.

Currently, there is no artist listed to sing the theme song, but it is rumored that Janne Da Arc's vocalist solo project, Acid Black Cherry will sing the theme song. To those who don't have the idea about their music, here's their song, Re: birth which was used as the theme song for the game, Another Century's Episode: R. Enjoy awesome mecha fights as this song is being played.


Acid Black Cherry is currently signed with the music label, Avex the music label that is responsible for recording most of the Kamen Rider songs in the past few years. Now you know why Gackt was able to sing for Kamen Rider!

Kamen Rider Kabuto English Dubbed Series


Almost two years ago, the 7th entry to the Heisei Kamen Rider Series, Kamen Rider Kabuto aired in the Philippines on Cartoon Network and was dubbed in English. During its run here in the Philippines, a man uploaded episodes of the series in his Multiply account before it was taken down.

I was able to track down the guy and talked about him re-uploading the series even just a few episodes per day. He agreed, and here are the Kabuto episodes in English to those interested. To those who are wondering who is that guy, he goes under the alias, theSandies.

GokaiRed Gold Mode in DiceOh Action!

Too bad, GokaiRed Gold Mode wasn't seen using the Gokai Legend Dream finisher in this video.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger 23 – Peoples’ Lives Are the Future of the Earth


Also known as Fabulous Basco IV: Basco and Friends! In this episode, for the first time, Gai wasn’t able to figure out what Navi is talking about and now becomes part of the team’s biweekly routine of aimlessly looking for the Grand Power. Asides from Basco’s return, this episode contains many girl power moments.


Many fans wondered why Luka was so protective towards Ahim that it later led to shipping called, Luka x Ahim. This episode cleared that misconception that Luka is tomboy for Ahim, turned out that she has a little sister (sona ka ono hajimaite…) named Fia and she wasn’t able to bring her to a doctor when she was sick, and thus psychology wise, she instead carry her emotions of guilt by being overprotective towards Ahim. Speaking of which, the episode also serves as Ahim’s character development episode as she tries to prove in front of Luka that she is not her little sister that she is some pirate princess.

Compared to the other girl power episodes that I watched, it was not that impressive but it was not that bad. I just loved that they transformed into various sibling related Sentai teams (namely, Magiranger, Fiveman and GoGo V), but it wasn’t that it didn’t sold me less the Fiveman Gokai Change in which I suddenly remembered my old crush, Five Yellow or was it Pink. And the last Magiranger Gokai Change, boy, Ahim proves that she is indeed a Pink Ranger!


For the actual tribute itself, it never felt like a GoGo V tribute in my opinion, sure, we have Matsuri aka Go Pink but she does not have that impact of a mentor figure compared to her brothers, especially if we are talking about Matoi. I mean, she was just… there and didn’t give anything special to the episode asides from her presence and saying the episode title! Remove Matsuri out of the picture, and it would be one average filler episode. Also, the “sibling plot” felt a bit advance in some point since I find it best if they just use that plot in the Fiveman tribute.

As for the GoGo V Gokai Change, I knew it, Gai’s imagination can’t create a Go Titanium/Go Silver/Titanium Ranger/Insert Name of Possible Japanese name of Titanium Ranger here Ranger Key! I mean, he is a Sentai fan and doesn’t watch Power Rangers, so yeah. Now back to the fight, I just love that the GoGo V theme being played in the background, it adds a heroic feel in the battle that they should save the Earth and save lives because they are the Rescue Sentai GoGo V. As for the GoGo V Grand Power, understandable since Victory Robo’s main body base is a fire truck, so I am not surprised that the GokaiOh will have water hoses attached to its body.


Now to Basco, I just loved that he tries other approaches in getting the Grand Powers. If doing a direct approach won’t work, then do an indirect one and fool the enemy that Zangyack is the one responsible for it! Lastly, I just love his choice for Ranger Keys this time! I mean, Rio and Mele had long history of being the bad guys before helping the Gekirangers fight Long at the show’s last 3-5 episodes and prior to that, they occasionally helped the Gekirangers if they have no other options left, like when they were transported to Hong Kong or when they were transported back in the past. As for the use of Zubaan… well, my only memory about the guy is him forcing himself to be Boukenger’s Seventh Ranger and if you consider Power Rangers, him being hammy most of the time.

Power Rangers SPD Japanese: Jack Morphs!


With the release of the Toei Hero Club DVD of Power Rangers SPD, here's the clip of the Japanese dub of the show which features Ryuji Sainei's voice as Jack Landors aka SPD Red Ranger. Power Rangers SPD also airs at Toei Channel.


To be honest, I am used with dubbed toku since I grew up watching it but I still find it weird that I am hearing Ban's voice coming out from Jack's mouth, seriously. But when he already transformed into SPD Red Ranger, the transition was flawless and it felt natural in my opinion.

Power Rangers Samurai Toys Spotted in the Philippines!


After Power Rangers Samurai conquered most of Europe and some parts in Asia, its time for the Philippines to have the Samurai Power Rangers! Toys for the said series can now be seen in local toy shelves and it is still unknown in what TV station the series will air.


Some speculated that Samurai will air on Cartoon Network Philippines due to the show's history with that station, but my guess will be that it will air on Nickelodeon like how other European countries did it. Guess acquiring the license for Samurai Sentai Shinkenger is quite costly compared from getting the Samurai one.

Also, some other things I saw in the photo, I spotted a Ranger Key set at the bottom along with a Dragon Ranger sofubi. Makes me wanna wish that Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger will air in the Philippines!

Blake Foster Offered to Return to Power Rangers?

One of Blake Foster's latest photo take from his Facebook account.

Blake Foster, best known for his role in Power Rangers Turbo as Justin Stewart aka Blue Turbo Ranger recently attended a convention called, Anime Festival Orlando and a staff member overheard something interesting about this guy.

Here's the paraphrase of the entire conversation:

Fan: Are you going to come back to acting?
Blake Foster: I’m thinking about it. I’m done with school now.
Fan: Would you come back to Power Rangers?
Blake Foster: I’d like to. They’ve asked if I’d be interested, I don’t know if it’d be as the same character or someone new.

Considering that the next Power Rangers series after Power Rangers Samurai is undergoing open casting calls, it is quite possible, and hopefully, he will retain his old role as Justin and not end up like Rick Medina, Jr. who returned to Power Rangers as a different character in the form of Deker.

Joh Ohara/Yellow Lion Returns on Gokaiger!


Kazuhiko Nishimura who plays Joh Ohara aka Yellow Lion in Choujuu Sentai Liveman is confirmed to return in the Liveman tribute episode on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger!

The confirmation was made in his blog that he just had wardrobe fitting for the show, possibly to recreate his character's "Miami Vice-style" outfit. The Liveman tribute episode is directed by Katsuya Watanabe. This would be the second confirmation of a pre-Zyuranger Sentai tribute episode being made. The first was with Toshihide Wakamatsu's confirmation of Gai Yuki/Black Condor's return on Gokaiger.

Also, the release date for the Gokaiger - Goseiger - Super Sentai: 199 Hero Great Battle DVD is confirmed to be released this late November! So expect fansubs to be released during December.

Te o Tsunagō ~Matsuken × Kamen Rider Samba PV


Here's the full version of Te o Tsunagō ~Matsuken × Kamen Rider Samba (Let's Hold Hands ~Matsuken × Kamen Rider Samba) by Ken Matsudaira feat. Eiji & Ankh which is the team song of Kamen Rider OOO WONDERFUL Shogun and 21 Medals movie which will be released in Japan this August 6th.


According to its Wikipedia entry, while involving rap elements, the song mainly uses elements from Ken Matsudaira's Matsuken Samba song series that blend traditional-style Japanese vocals with Brazilian samba music and use several Brazilian Portuguese words and phrases in the lyrics. Thoughts about the full version? I love it, especially the amounts of Ankh rap! Ole! Ole! Ole! OH SEIYA~! You can get your copies of this song at CDJapan! This song has two editions, the Standard and the CD+DVD Edition which contains the music video of the song!

Games, Episode Rumors & Fourze Updates


As Kamen Rider OOO is close to its end, more rumors coming from 2ch about Kamen Rider Fourze's upcoming episodes surfaced the web! And as a bonus, Kamen Rider Fourze is part of the All Kamen Rider Generation game, and we have the codes to get this guy!

Please take rumors with a grain of salt!

Episode 1: Youth Switch On!
One day, an unthinkable bad boy transfers to Amanogawa High School. He aims to befriend every single student attending to the school. But the school is filled with weird people and this task is harder than it seems. He's suddenly called out by his classmate, Kengo Utahoshi.

Episode 2: I'm Kamen Rider!
After Gentaro saved Kengo, he entrusts the Astro Switches to Gentaro. A girl by the name of Yuuki Joujima catches a glimpse of Gentaro fighting as Fourze. Later, Gentaro is taken to outer space.

Episode 3: Let's Fly, Launcher!
Gentaro creates the Kamen Rider club. However, Kamen Rider Fourze itself is supposed to be a secret. Thus he's not even allowed to say that Fourze is a Kamen Rider. Gentaro who's not happy about that decides to hold an assembly in front of the whole school to spread the word of his club. A mysterious man holding a switch was seen standing in the corner of the gym.

In the game, All Kamen Rider: Rider Generation, you can unlock Kamen Rider Fourze by entering this code: X2F8-4V75-563H-7833. Also, a clip surfaced online which featured his three Modules and their specific sounds, namely: Rocket, Drill and Launcher.


The clip features the tag team between OOO and Fourze in which at the end, OOO ends the game in OOO Putotyra Combo. Too bad, Fourze doesn't have any special skills.

Kamen Rider Fourze premieres this September 4 while the All Kamen Rider Generation Nintendo DS game has been released recently! Grab your copies in either Play-Asia or CDJapan while supplies last!

Eiji & Ankh Wraps Up Kamen Rider OOO


Last time, I posted pictures of some of Kamen Rider OOO's wrap up photos, this time, I will post Shu Watanabe and Ryosuke Miura's respective series wrap-up blog entries. Be warned that you might shed manly tears after reading their respective blog entries.

Both Shu Watanabe and Ryosuke Miura wrapped up on July 29th, according to Mayuko Arisue who plays Erika Satonaka. First is Shu Watanabe's blog entry who plays Eiji Hino aka Kamen Rider OOO:

Yesterday, at about 2:30AM, I, Shu Watanabe who plays Eiji Hino, finished with all filming for Kamen Rider OOO.

It went by in the blink of an eye.

When I first met everyone, the director said, “It goes by in the blink of an eye.” I always thought of what I’d do for a year. While I was thinking of that, the end creeped up on me.

Time flows so quickly. It flows 100 times faster when you’re having fun.

When I was little I dreamed of becoming a Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider OOO has given me a lot of strength. This will get kind of long, so….

To Hiroaki Iwanaga (Akira Date): We talked so much about what it means to be a man. Our actual ages might be so far apart but mentally we’re the same age. At first I mistook you for an EXILE member, you’re so burly. You always cheered us up on the set with your terrible jokes. I feel like I’ve gained an older brother, it makes me happy.

To Asaya Kimijima (Shintaro Goto): Since you didn’t talk to me at first, and you were so cool, I thought for a while you might have hated me. But actually you’re just a shy, warm-hearted guy! Sharp, refined Kimiji cheered me up so many times when I was down, it was very nice of you to take care of me like that. So give me some clothes, please. lol

To Riho Takada (Hina Izumi): When I first met you you were 15, but you’re so much more mature than me who’s older. Thanks for laughing at my boring gags on the set. As the heroine to the end, playing strong Hina, you really have a strong heart.

To Mayuko Arisue (Erika Satonaka): Somehow or other you could say we worked together 3 or 4 times before Kamen Rider OOO. Since you’re the only other cast member the same age as nervous little me, you became a reassuring friend. You never stopped talking, how many times did you tell me the same stories? lol They’re all good memories, though.

To Yusuke Yamada (Uva): Like me, your jokes kept failing too. When we were at the final audition, you were my partner, and I thought your voice was pretty loud. lol When you would sometimes show us your serious side you were pretty cool.

To Taito Hashimoto (Kazari): You’re good at dancing and singing so at first you were overwhelming. Sorry for stealing your silver wig that one time. Your Kansai dialect was cool.

To Hiroyuki Matsumoto (Gamel): You were the most talkative Greeed. Gamel was gone for a while, but I was glad when he came back. I got lonely when I couldn’t hear Gamel’s voice during ADR but it was good that I got to hear him again.

To Honoka Miki (Mezool): We were only on the set together once or twice, but whether you were showing your K-pop dance moves or just being silly, seeing you always smiling was lovely.

To Hikari Tobita (lost Ankh): Since you loved OOO so much and came from the sticks, we became fast friends, didn’t we? When you wrapped and started crying I thought I would too. You were like a cute little brother to me.

To Marie Kai (Chiyoko Shiraishi): From the very beginning, you were so cheerful and always listened to me with great interest. I can’t tell the difference between you and Chiyoko, such a beautiful character always got OOO so excited. You played an older sister and you really became like an older sister to me.

To Yu Kamio (Kiyoto Maki): When we first met I said you were older than my dad. lol I still remember the time Iwa [Iwanaga] and I took you on and you beat us black and blue. As one would expect from SP! When I get old enough to go drinking let’s go sometime!

To Takashi Ukaji (Kousei Kougami): When I first met you I was way too surprised. It was fun listening to your old stories. You taught me a lot about acting and life, I have a great respect for you.

To Ryosuke Miura (Ankh/Shingo Izumi): We first met at rehearsal, right? We didn’t get along at first but when I asked what food is good for a guy living on his own you told me about easy-to-make spaghetti. That was our first conversation. Our two personalities are so different, I’m the passionate type and you’re the shy type. At first our wavelengths didn’t meet, and we sometimes used to fight. Do you remember our Ueno and Shinjuku dates? We went out with Eiji and Ankh hair, competing to see who would get found out first. It was always Ankh first. lol When you would leave some food after your lunch I’d always finish it for you. In the last year, how much have you taught me, I wonder? How much have we talked? How much have we been together? I really wanted to be together more. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you. When I was confused you were right there. On days you weren’t around, I couldn’t really get into the filming. I really needed my partner Ryon! I can’t tell you face-to-face but I’m truly grateful to you from the bottom of my heart. Finally, thanks for supporting me for a whole year.


You’re all my friends that I made through OOO. This was thanks to the other cast, the directors, staff, fans, and everyone else.

From now we’re going to walk our seperate paths, but if you’re ever lost come back to OOO! Believe a bright tomorrow will come….

Now to Ryosuke Miura's blog entry who plays Hina's sister, Shingo Izumi and Ankh.

It’s a bit late, but I have an announcment to make. The other day, in the night when I came back from the Kyoto event to Tokyo, when the last of the ADR for Kamen Rider OOO finished, the role of Ankh/Shingo Izumi also finished. The night of the 29th was when filming finished but I couldn’t let it be finished for me until the ADR was done.

I took a slow, deep breath.

That day, I drank some sake at home. Watching the episode that aired on Sunday, I looked back over the last year once more.

A lot of things happened. Well, that’s a year for you. Everyone could say a lot of things happened over the last year, and it was the same for me.

Regrettable things, painful things, times when I’d come home and cry without even turning on the lights, so many things…

I spent more time with the OOO members than with my friends or family. When I had a problem I eventually couldn’t resolve by myself, they were all there for me. Therefore, I put everything I had into the filming until the very end.

Of course, I could never count the fun and happy times.

To the staff, all the cast, and everyone who loves OOO and has supported us, thank you very much.

I have been able to completely finish this task without injury.

The show is still airing…. Please watch OOO to the finale.

And finally, to Shu Watanabe who played Eiji Hino:

First of all, thank you for your hard work over the past year. I could always feel your love and enthusiasm for this show and cast.

Wanting to become a Kamen Rider, you entered this world we call show business and left your parents and home in Akita while you were still just a teenager, chasing your dream. For that I truly respect you now.

Do you remember when we first met? You were so passionate, and broke down the walls of my heart without permission and left them like that.

At first I hated your innocence. But really, I was jealous. Making friends with anyone quickly, being so sweet, always smiling, making yakimochi, sleeping, eating, yet always smilng. I was jealous…. I could never say it, your personality is so different from mine.

When we fought, when we were very close, when our relationship was strained. And now, my darling Shu…

In fun times and difficult times, in painful times, when it was cold and when it was hot, when I was nervous or in pain, when we were getting our makeup done, at breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner or when we slept, you were right there by my side….

Are you my lover?

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger 22 - Shooting Stars, Dinosaurs and Joe's Grocery

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep cause I miss you babe, and I don't wanna miss a thing~! Sorry, can't help it.

Since Kamen Rider OOO is about to end, why not name this review based on the show's naming pattern... or I am just lazy to give a name for this review. Anyways, the episode marks the debut of the Super Sentai Encyclopedia, a guide made by Gai for the crew so that they won't mess up or mistook this team into that team (like what happened in the previous episode) but nope, it is not the main focus of this episode, but the kid who made a promise with his friend to watch a meteor shower one year later. Wait a minute, how did they know that there would be a meteor shower one year later?!


This episode is basically, filler which shows Joe's "admiration" towards people who are similar to Marvelous, people who are determined to fulfill their dreams even if in the midst of danger. I like this part, but what I hate about this filler is the kid, I didn't feel his character overall that in some point, I am quite annoyed with his presence which reminded me of the first episode of Zyuranger which the Zyurangers were awakened in the real world, not just to stop Bandora, but to save two kids inside a space shuttle! What's more is that what's the logic behind sending kids to outerspace in space mission?! Now back to the episode, sure the story was a bit lame, but the episode shows to us that Gil is quite a competent leader that he didn't let Stargle to die and instead just turn him into a giant so that the he can still have control over the giant asteroid.

More about the episode, a lot of scenes in this episode are truly worth watching, such as the out of suit fights, though not as good as episode 13 nor the Koichi Sakamoto episodes, but still good. My only problem with it is that the pacing of the fights was a bit slow. More on the "truly worth watching scenes" the entrance of the GokaiOh was amazing, and so does the entrance of the GouZyu* Drill and the GaoLion. It looks simple, and at the same time stunning, and those scenes are just the icing on the cake! To top this episode's "worth watching scenes" that would be the the Shinken GokaiOh throwing the GouZyuJin in outer space and used its drill to pierce the asteroid till it breaks! What's more is that the scene prior to that felt like a scene from Armageddon in which Bruce Willis decided to sacrifice his life instead of the life of his daughter's boyfriend! Take note, I was singing "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" I was watching the scene.


Overall, it was an average filler episode with a lot of epic scenes, blame the irritating kid. Also, I still love the fact that Joe still doesn't care what's the difference between a Dinosaur Sentai and a Burstosaur or if you prefer, Bakuryu Sentai since they both have dinosaurs in it.


* Will be using GouZyu from now on since there is no proper romanization for the name of GokaiSilver's mecha and also, to put more impact on the mecha's Zyuranger reference.

Kamen Rider OOO Burakawani Combo Movie Debut


Here's Kamen Rider OOO's movie-exclusive Combo, Kamen Rider OOO Burakawani Combo in action as seen in the recent Kamen Rider OOO and Gokaiger TV special. The said Combo will debut on the Kamen Rider OOO WONDERFUL Shogun and 21 Medals movie this August 8th.


This orange Combo utilizes the Cobra, Kame (Turtle) and Wani (Crocodile) Core Medals and is often referred to as the "Lost Combo" after the defeat of the alchemist, Gara 800 years ago. In this scene, OOO is fighting the Nue Yummy which he later defeated using the "Waring Ride" Scanning Charge.

Kamen Rider OOO x Fourze Movie Wars Teaser


The first teaser of the upcoming Kamen Rider OOO x Fourze Movie Wars movie has been released. The film is said to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the franchise is set for a December release.


Is it me or it seems that Movie Wars is now an official Toei movie tradition similar to Sentai's Versus movies. It is said that the film will be released this December 10th.

OOO Filming Ends and Random Shu Watanabe

Since Kamen Rider OOO is almost over, some cast members posted pics of their last shooting day of the said series. Also as a bonus, some pics of what Shu Watanabe is doing during the past few weeks!


Pictures from the left and right came from Riho Takada's blog who plays Hina Izumi while on the center came from Hiroaki Iwagana's blog who plays Akira Date/Kamen Rider Birth, which depicts Date wearing a medical robe. Yep, Doctor Date is back in business.


More on Doctor Date, it seems that he is on some isolate forest doing some medical mission...
