Code Geass GAIDEN to Air this Winter?

We have previously reported that Sunrise's Masayuki Ozaki aims that the new Code Geass series, Code Geass GAIDEN: The Ruined Land of Akito to be released next year. Recently, toy retailer Mega House hints that the said series will be released Winter this year!

In their website, they feature of a figure of Lelouch Vi Britannia's appearance at the near end of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and placed a not that the demand of this figure will increase once the new Code Geass series will hit this Winter.

Code Geass GAIDEN: The Ruined Land of Akito is set on the same Code Geass universe except it won't star Lelouch. The story is set in Europe where a Knightmare Unit of Zone Eleven boys and girls must rescue allies left behind on the battlefield.

The director is Kazuki Akane (The Vision of Escaflowne, Noein - to your other self), Shigeru Morita (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Blood+) and Takahiro Kimura once again adapting CLAMP's original character designs for animation, and Akira Yasuda returns to design the mechanical Knightmare units.

Code Geass GAIDEN Aimed for 2012

It was announced last year that Code Geass will have a spin-off entitled, Code Geass GAIDEN: The Ruined Land of Akito, months later, we have the first character designs and Knightmare Frame designs. It is still unknown as of the moment when will the series be released till Sunrise's Masayuki Ozaki revealed their plans for the Code Geass GAIDEN.

Masayuki Ozaki is the General Manager of Sunrise's Overseas Development confirmed on Sunrise Industry Panel on the recently concluded Otakon that they are looking forward in releasing it next year, although its production is behind schedule. Dubbed by Ozaki as the "next season of Code Geass," and later describes the setting of the series, "in the same world as Lelouch except with different characters (...) the stage is set in Europe, so we'll see a lot of European countries."

The director is Kazuki Akane (The Vision of Escaflowne, Noein - to your other self), Shigeru Morita (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Blood+) and Takahiro Kimura once again adapting CLAMP's original character designs for animation, and Akira Yasuda returns to design the mechanical Knightmare units.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Revisited

In preparation for the upcoming release of Code Geass Gaiden: Bokoku no Akito (The Ruined Land of Akito), the two seasons of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime series are being re-mixed onto two digest DVDs.

To be entitled "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion BLACK REBELLION" and "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 ZERO REQUIEM" revisit the story of the first 25-episode TV series and the 2nd series respectively.

This re-edited version of the Code Geass story will cover the events of the two original anime series from the point of view of the protagonist Lelouch Lamperouge. Bandai Visual will release this new edition on two 120-minute DVDs on September 22 for 2,800 yen each (about US$37).

Lelouch Eye Mask Merchandise Offered!

Cospa, a Japanese character apparel and goods retailer will offer a Lelouch Eye Mask, an item inspired by the titular character of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion in early August!

Like the anime character, the 1,200-yen (about US$15) reversible cotton/urethane mask features the Geass symbol in the left eye; the symbol appears when Lelouch uses his Geass ability to possess people with the power of absolute obedience.

The only thing that this item is missing is the ability to actually command someone to obey your orders while you are asleep!

New Code Geass Spin-Off Manga, Published!

The new spin-off manga based on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Barcode Geass: Hanbai no Lelouch (Trans. Barcode Geass: Lelouch of the Sale) will be shipped this Monday on the 2nd issue of 4-Koma Nano Ace magazine!

Created by Nao Katou, this manga re-imagines Lelouch Lamperouge as a part-time convenience store worker. Wait, what?! Code Geass script supervisor Ichiro Okouchi and director Goro Taniguchi are credited with the original story.

The five other new titles in the second 4-Koma Nano Ace issue are original works: Kamata Majo by Izumi Kazuto, Himan Musume by Munekichi, Aku no Himitsu Kessha by Mosuke Mattaku, Dejiman—! by Makoto Kuon, and Gakuen no Musume by Yuka Santō. The second issue also bundled a Nichijou pen holder and poster.

Code Geass Manga Artist Plans to Sue Blogger

Manga artist Tomomasa Takuma (Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, Kurogane Communication) mentioned on his Twitter account that he talked with the publisher Kadokawa Shoten and a lawyer about a lawsuit against a blogger who criticized him and the Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya manga.

The blog, Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya no Tōyō to Settei Machigai ni Tsukkomu Blog wrote several complaints about the said manga, one significant complain is that it is said that it plagiarized Weekly Shonen Jump's Yagyū Reppūken Renya a historical manga made by Takashi Noguchi.

On Tuesday, Takuma reported that he made arrangements and completed the paperwork with the lawyer for legal action. As of early Wednesday, he added that he will stop using Twitter for an indefinite period.

To those who don't have the background about the manga, Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya was also created by Goro Taniguchi (who is responsible with the scripting of the manga) the director and story co-creator of the original anime. The manga is set in the same official Code Geass history as the anime, but in Japan's historical Edo era. The story begins when Renya, a 17-year-old boy with a mechanical left arm and shuriken-throwing skills, encounters a mysterious, perpetually young woman named "Reifū C.C."

Currently the manga on hiatus, but Takuma said that the hiatus is unrelated to the blog. Takuma said that the hiatus is due to a private matter with his staff, so he can not disclose the reason.

Code Geass GAIDEN Minor Update!

It's been months since we have an update regarding the upcoming Code Geass GAIDEN: Boukoku no Akito (Trans. The Ruined Land of Akito). To refresh your memory about our previous update, we have learned the two characters of this series, namely Akito Hyuga an Eleven and his partner, Layla.

Our minor update is regarding Akito's Knightmare, New KMF. According to the official website, it was independently developed by EU Special Operations. Because of its appearance, it was speculated that this is a 6th Generation Knightmare Frame or later than that. Akira Yasuda, who is responsible in the previous mecha designs, returns to design the mechas for this side story.

To those who are wondering when will they release the side story, sad to say, no release date of its release date was not announced.

Code Geass GAIDEN: Boukoku no Akito Character Designs Revealed!

After months of speculating about the upcoming Code Geass side-story, Boukoku no Akito regarding whether or not Zero or Lelouch will appear, at last, Newtype has just released the character designs of this show's protagonist, Hyuga Akito and Leila!

Hyuga Akito is an Eleven (Japanese for the uninitiated) belonging to the EU Army, which is considered as the weakest from the three superpowers in the Code Geass Universe. The other superpowers are: the Holy Britannian Empire and the Chinese Federation.

During year 2017, in the hellish European battlefront, he takes up a military operation with 5% survival rate as a soldier who has lost his hometown.

Leila (Romanization not yet confirmed.) is the heroine and Akito's superior. Wears a peculiar costume. Does not seem to be Japanese, and has a refined, almost princess-like air about her?

People from 2ch are speculating that she might be a Britainnian princess due to her description.

To those who are wondering, CLAMP (Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicle) is the one who did the character designs for Boukoku no Akito. This group is also responsible for the respective character designs of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

As of now, it is still unconfirmed if this series will be an OVA or a TV series, hopefully, this Code Geass title will be a TV series!

Code Geass R2 Final: TV5 vs. HEROtv - The Final Comparison

Everyone remembers the epic censorship that happened on Code Geass R2 that ruined the drama that was being build up in the entire episode. To those who have forgotten, here's the scene on top of you and the one below you.

On the below-right corner: They have forgotten to monochrome it! LOL!

Since we know that HEROtv is also airing Code Geass R2, here's their take on these scenes.

Aside from that, there is one scene found in the HEROtv airing that was never seen in the TV5 run!

Sure, a simple blood splatter but it adds to the depth of the event.

Riiight. But Still, It Looks Edited BADLY Edited

Riiight.

Last time, I made a review on the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion HERO TV dub, and one of my rants is that they edited the opening and ending sequences. I posted my review on HERO TV's Facebook Fanpage and made replies that was posted ahead of you. 

I mean, come on, IMO, it didn't look like that is what the suppliers gave them. I mean, if you watched the opening sequence, it clearly looks copy-pasta of various parts from the other two OP sequences! If that is what the suppliers gave them, then they should do quality check and compare it to the other shows. 

Bottomline = OP and ED Sequences is serious business.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Ep 3 - HERO TV Dub

Here's the third episode of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Here's the episode in which Nunnally debuted.

Nunnally's voice is really good. It's similar to the Japanese version of the Code Geass dub.

Ohgi's voice is better compared to the TV5 dub.  

Zero's voice... Let's just say it sounds like he is trying to do a Dracula voice instead of doing a princly bastard type of voice that Zero is known for.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion HERO TV Dub

We've announced last time that HERO TV will air Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and now someone has recorded the first episode! To those who don't have cable and wonders how the dub sound like, here it is.

If I remembered correctly, C.C. supposed to be the narrator? Why a guy? Also, I noticed that the opening sequence seemed to be altered a bit. What's with that?! In the first few bits, Kid Lelouch's voice seemed mature. In this sample clip of the  Lapat-Tinig/TV5 dub, kid Lelouch still sound like a kid. 

Lelouch's voice... it's fine. Deep but in my opinion, still is not par with Vincent Guttierez's voice acting.  In some point for me, it felt like he is trying to copy Johnny Yong Bosch's performance. Also, like Vincent back in the first episode, he never had that accent when he uses his Geass.

Kallen's voice... not soldier enough for me.

Since this blog is named after Orange, as a fan of him, I prefer his HERO dub! Sure the TV5 dub was good, but this. This Orange is epic! Lloyd lacks it eccentric-ness that I love in the original Japanese and TV5 dub. 

Suzaku's voice is a little better IMO compared to the TV5 dub. C.C.'s voice lacks this certain force that I loved in the Jap and the TV5 dub. For Charles, lacks force. Nuff said.

Pronunciation of some terms like Britannian and Rivalz are wrong. I love the fact that English phrases that was removed in the TV5 dub's CG: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 dub was retained. Hope they will still retain it till R2. For the script, its fine but on the last bits, Lelouch's infamous, "Ako si Lelouch vi Britannia" line was missing, instead we have this, "Ako si Lelouch..." and we still have the same response from the soldiers. O_O 

Overall, the dub was in-between. It can improve over time. If they pronouced Geass as "Diyes", I might start laughing at them since they never watched how the other station did it!

Its Official. Code Geass Premieres on HERO TV

July seems to be a great month in terms of anime, aside that Studio 23 will air new titles and TV5 will return some old faves, it seems that the cable sector is fighting back. On the Hero TV Forums, they have just released their July 2010 Program Grid. Aside from the 4th Season of Major, it is official. Code Geass is now on HERO.

 

According to their program grid, it seems that they will air both Season 1 and R2. Now, I can't wait how they will dub it considering that Lapat-Tinig was responsible in dubbing it not Telesuccess (If Telesuccess is the one responsible in the CG dub, then we will hear the same dubs found in TV5).

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion premieres on July 27 at 3:30pm, 6:30pm and 11pm on HERO.

Now that the King is Away, the Mouse Will Play!

No way, no effin' way.

I was checking theBlockerPH and Anime Kabayan’s respective blogs when I saw articles regarding Code Geass airing on HERO TV. My reaction, why now? Bakit ngayon pa kung kailang tulog ang hari?! Whoops. Sorry, they are taking advantage that Animega is on a hiatus. :P

According to those articles, HERO had plans on airing Code Geass buuuut because of some voices from above, they decided to go to, Biker Mice from Mars which was stupid in my own opinion. If they aired Code Geass back then before TV5 aired it then HERO will not receive this kind of criticism that they “stole” Code Geass! 

If only they aired CG earlier, this would not happen.

Since they are getting Code Geass, then I should wait on how they will dub the show. I mean, the original Filipino dub have problems such as the mispronunciation of the term, Geass and heavy comments on the voice acting which later thanks to constructive criticism, it improved. If Vincent Gutierrez will return in the HERO TV dub as Lelouch then I would be really happy.

Since HERO is airing this, there is a thin chance that it will air on ABS-CBN but maybe CG would end up like Keikaishi. Let’s just hope that the HERO dub will sound good since the TV5 dub left quite an impact on me. Like this:

Code Geass is Back on TV5! All Hail Brittania!

All Hail Buritannia! All Hail Rerouch!

After R2 finished last June, Code Geass Season 1, the season where everything began is back on free TV, thanks to TV5 and what’s more, on the same timeslot! Yes, on the same timeslot like that of last year!

Rewatching Code Geass, it’s kinda nostalgic seeing it again on the same timeslot on the same channel. Back in the first episode, C.C. is played by a different dubber and Vincent Gutierrez’ Lelouch is not that powerful but as the series goes by, his acting as Lelouch becomes powerful. This is the first time I noticed that they are using the “Yes My Lord” lines. And Orange, I mean Jeremiah, ah, back then he is not that awesome… after the Orange incident.

So, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion on TV5 at 7:30pm weekdays only on TV5 Animega.

Brotherly Love

There's always something hot about seeing two guys together.  However, when the guys are supposed to be brothers, it skirts the fine line between hot and forbidden.  That's the case with these Code Geass pics featuring Lelouch and younger brother Rollo.

I don't know exactly where these pics come from but I do know that they were done by Sakou Yukie.  She was an animator on Code Geass and illustrated many pieces of official art for the series.  So, I'm considering these official until I hear anything less.  Besides, if that picture of Lelouch and his mother is official, these could be too.
