HEROtv Theathrixx This March 2011!

In the latest teaser of HEROtv Theatrixx this month, they have revealed that they will air Initial D: Extra Stage OVA and Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie (Also known as Yu-Gi-Oh! The Pyramid of Light) will be released in its original Japanese audio AND subbed in Filipino and everyone thought it is impossible!

Here's the summary for the two anime related things that will air on HEROtv Theatrixx:

Initial D: Extra Stage OVA

The Lancer EVO-driving group, Emperor have defeated every racing team they've met in the Gunma region. Now they're out to challenge the duo of Mako and Sayuki and their SilEighty - the Impact Blue of Usui Mountain. This OVA will air on March 26.

Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie

Anubis, an ancient Egyptian evil that was defeated by Yugi's alter ego centuries ago, has returned to exact revenge. Wielding the power of the Eighth Millennium Item, Anubis is determined to destroy Yugi and take over the world. The movie will air on March 20.

Now I am starting to wonder, if this thing would be successful, will HEROtv decide to also release anime that is fresh from Japan and sub it in Filipino or sub an entire series in Filipino? Only time will tell.

HEROtv December Line-up

It was recently posted on ZEN Otaku Honbu's Facebook Fanpage HEROtv's December line-up!

Most of their new titles are titles that were dubbed by Telesuccess Productions, namely, Casshern Sins, Special A, Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroria (Which is also airing at GMA) and Cowboy Bebop. The other three titles mentioned once aired on TV5.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX airs on HEROtv this November 18!

After teasing us last time that the legacy of Duel Monsters will continue, on their official Twitter account, they have now announced that Yu-Gi-Oh! GX S2 will premiere this November 18, Thursday. The following timeslots on its second season premiere are: 3PM, 6PM & 12AM on HEROtv! The question is, when we will see this on free TV?

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 S2 on HEROtv

Since TV5 is quite delayed with Gundam 00 right now in which they stopped in episode 18 because of rapid schedule changes (Hope they will fix it soon... but for now, let's enjoy Golgo and Lucky Star reruns!), HEROtv was able to catch up and now, they have just premiered Season 2 of Gundam 00!

According to ZEN Otaku Honbu FB, we are the first in Southeast Asia to air the second season of Gundam 00! Aside from that, accordingly, TV5 already has the rights for S2. The question is, when will they air it... along with finishing D. Gray-man, FMA: B, Haruhi and start with Inuyasha.

Hunter x Hunter HEROtv Promo

It seems that HEROtv is having a good final quarter of the year! Aside from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and D.Gray-Man adding to their arsenal, the popular anime that once? graced on GMA, Hunter x Hunter is set to premiere on cable! Here's the promo.

Here are the new promos of the upcoming titles on HEROtv this November! Aside from these two, this November, Hunter X Hunter (Premieres on November 9) and Initial D: First Stage (Premieres on November 25) will premiere along with the new local show, My HERO Nation on November 06, Saturdays at 11:00am, with repeats at Sundays at 11:00am and Weekends at 08:00pm. And the continuation of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Shin Mazinger Edition Z.

D. Gray-Man Promo

To those watched the TV5 dub and wonders why it is still Jefferson Utanes as Allen Walker, it is because that Telesuccess Produtions are the ones owning the license for the dub so it is no surprise that it will air on HEROtv.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Promo

Just have Louis Parabolles back as Jaden Yuki, and I will be happy. Hope this would directly air on Studio 23 once its run on HEROtv will be over like what happened to Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX S2 Premieres on HEROtv!

After the long wait, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season Two is set to premiere on cable shores via HEROtv this November! As we all know, the previous season, which is about their freshmen year in the prestigious Duel Academy aired a couple years ago from the said channel.

On their second year, Jaden Yuki and his friends are up for a new challenge! Aside from dorm transfers of a certain character, and new rivals, they will face a new enemy, and oh, more children's card games!

Along with it, Initial D: First Stage will premiere this November and the Dubber's Cut of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 will air. To those who don't have the idea, Dubber's Cut is when they feature the voice actors behind the characters of a certain title.

Now, I wonder, what took them so long to acquire Yu-Gi-Oh! GX?!

D.Gray-Man this November on HEROtv

It seems that they are really riding the TV5 Express! Aside from Code Geass and Gundam 00, D.Gray-Man, a titled that started airing on TV5 last March is set to premiere on cable shores this November.

To be honest, I am not surprised with this move considering that this title's license is owned by Telesuccess Productions. So I am not surprised if I will hear Jefferson Utanes as Allen Walker and Grace Cornel as Lenalee Lee. Other Telesuccess titles that aired on HEROtv that are currently airing on HEROtv are Hajime no Ippo and Shin Mazinger Z, both shows aired on GMA.

Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-HEN Ep 1 (HEROtv & GMA)

Here's the first episode of Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-HEN that aired on HEROtv that replaced School Rumble and on GMA that replaced Hajime no Ippo: A New Challenger.

In case you are wondering why I placed GMA on the title, it is because this is the version that GMA also aired. Note, Shin Mazinger Z is dubbed by Telesuccess Prod., thus it is no surprise that you are hearing the same dub.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 on HEROtv - Episode 1

To those who have remembered, I announced that Gundam 00 will air on HEROtv this October. Here's their first episode.

Aside that they used the traditional MOH-BAYL-SOOT pronunciation of Mobile Suit, unlike the TV5 dub that used the Japanese pronunciation of the said term, it seems that most of the characters sounded good.

As for the Gundam Meisters, they sounded good in this dub. About Alleluyah (In which I hated because he sounded like Sunohara in the Filipino dub of Clannad), he sounded good, but his voice fits if he is in Halleluyah mode. As for Lockon, LAVI, IS THAT YOU?! His voice partly fits for the character. Setsuna's VA, I am fine with it. For Tieria, I am tied between his TV5 voice and HEROtv voice. For Haro's voice, it sucks.

My only problem with it is that they fit it for the SD resolution unlike the TV5 version in which they used the widescreen version.

Overall, if I would pick a better version of the dubs, I prefer the HEROtv dub in terms of the minor voices, for the Gundam Meisters, 2/4 of it are good but the rest, it seems miscasted. Fop the script, I prefer the TV5 version because they tried their best to try as much as possible, stay close to the Japanese version. In conclusion, TV5 wins in the Meisters less Alleluyah and script. While HEROtv wins in the supporting characters less Haro and trying its best to stay close to the Pinoy fans by retain the MOH-BAYL-SOOT pronunciation.

Its too early right now who is the best dub considering that TV5 is still on episode 18, while HEROtv is on episode 5 next Monday.

Code Geass R2 Final: TV5 vs. HEROtv - The Final Comparison

Everyone remembers the epic censorship that happened on Code Geass R2 that ruined the drama that was being build up in the entire episode. To those who have forgotten, here's the scene on top of you and the one below you.

On the below-right corner: They have forgotten to monochrome it! LOL!

Since we know that HEROtv is also airing Code Geass R2, here's their take on these scenes.

Aside from that, there is one scene found in the HEROtv airing that was never seen in the TV5 run!

Sure, a simple blood splatter but it adds to the depth of the event.

Now, I finally realize the advantage of the series being aired in cable. To those who wanted to see it, here's the HEROtv version of Code Geass R2 and to those who miss the good ol' TV5 censorship, here it is.

Gundam 00 Officially will air on HEROtv

It was just announced on their official website, that Mobile Suit Gundam 00 will air on HEROtv for cable viewers! Replacing Code Geass R2 this October 5. To those who remember, this was first hinted on their newly revamp website. 

Just like Code Geass, this is the second time that they aired a title that once or is currently airing on TV5 ANiMEGA. I would not be surprised if any ANiMEGA title will air on HEROtv!

Gundam 00 on HEROtv?

On their newly relauched website, http://www.myheronation.com/, aside from the new flashy graphics, and a better looking interference that partly reminded me of Animax Asia's website, except it is "bluer." Aside from the usual synopsis of their flagship titles, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Supper Inggo at ang Super Tropa, Naruto Shippuden, Eyeshield 21 and Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, we have a surprise title, and that is: Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Proof? Here it is:

As we all know, TV5 aired Gundam 00 every Saturdays with two episodes per day. This is the second time that HEROtv is "grabbing" anime that once aired on TV5. The first was Code Geass. Does this mean that we might see older TV5 titles airing on HEROtv? Or is it trying to recover from the catapault that Animax Asia did thus making it a shadow of its former self? 

Just my opinion: Hope they would gamble on some titles or if they have the funds, do what Animax Asia did, do a same week telecast. I mean, if Studio 23 can spend some cash on their F.U.S.E. block, why can't HEROtv?

Last time, I made a review on the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion HERO TV dub, and one of my rants is that they edited the opening and ending sequences. I posted my review on HERO TV's Facebook Fanpage and made replies that was posted ahead of you. 

I mean, come on, IMO, it didn't look like that is what the suppliers gave them. I mean, if you watched the opening sequence, it clearly looks copy-pasta of various parts from the other two OP sequences! If that is what the suppliers gave them, then they should do quality check and compare it to the other shows. 

Bottomline = OP and ED Sequences is serious business.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Ep 3 - HERO TV Dub

Here's the third episode of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Here's the episode in which Nunnally debuted.

Nunnally's voice is really good. It's similar to the Japanese version of the Code Geass dub.

Ohgi's voice is better compared to the TV5 dub.  

Zero's voice... Let's just say it sounds like he is trying to do a Dracula voice instead of doing a princly bastard type of voice that Zero is known for.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion HERO TV Dub

We've announced last time that HERO TV will air Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and now someone has recorded the first episode! To those who don't have cable and wonders how the dub sound like, here it is.

If I remembered correctly, C.C. supposed to be the narrator? Why a guy? Also, I noticed that the opening sequence seemed to be altered a bit. What's with that?! In the first few bits, Kid Lelouch's voice seemed mature. In this sample clip of the  Lapat-Tinig/TV5 dub, kid Lelouch still sound like a kid. 

Lelouch's voice... it's fine. Deep but in my opinion, still is not par with Vincent Guttierez's voice acting.  In some point for me, it felt like he is trying to copy Johnny Yong Bosch's performance. Also, like Vincent back in the first episode, he never had that accent when he uses his Geass.

Kallen's voice... not soldier enough for me.

Since this blog is named after Orange, as a fan of him, I prefer his HERO dub! Sure the TV5 dub was good, but this. This Orange is epic! Lloyd lacks it eccentric-ness that I love in the original Japanese and TV5 dub. 

Suzaku's voice is a little better IMO compared to the TV5 dub. C.C.'s voice lacks this certain force that I loved in the Jap and the TV5 dub. For Charles, lacks force. Nuff said.

Pronunciation of some terms like Britannian and Rivalz are wrong. I love the fact that English phrases that was removed in the TV5 dub's CG: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 dub was retained. Hope they will still retain it till R2. For the script, its fine but on the last bits, Lelouch's infamous, "Ako si Lelouch vi Britannia" line was missing, instead we have this, "Ako si Lelouch..." and we still have the same response from the soldiers. O_O 

Overall, the dub was in-between. It can improve over time. If they pronouced Geass as "Diyes", I might start laughing at them since they never watched how the other station did it!

July seems to be a great month in terms of anime, aside that Studio 23 will air new titles and TV5 will return some old faves, it seems that the cable sector is fighting back. On the Hero TV Forums, they have just released their July 2010 Program Grid. Aside from the 4th Season of Major, it is official. Code Geass is now on HERO.

 

According to their program grid, it seems that they will air both Season 1 and R2. Now, I can't wait how they will dub it considering that Lapat-Tinig was responsible in dubbing it not Telesuccess (If Telesuccess is the one responsible in the CG dub, then we will hear the same dubs found in TV5).

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion premieres on July 27 at 3:30pm, 6:30pm and 11pm on HERO.

Now that the King is Away, the Mouse Will Play!

No way, no effin' way.

I was checking theBlockerPH and Anime Kabayan’s respective blogs when I saw articles regarding Code Geass airing on HERO TV. My reaction, why now? Bakit ngayon pa kung kailang tulog ang hari?! Whoops. Sorry, they are taking advantage that Animega is on a hiatus. :P

According to those articles, HERO had plans on airing Code Geass buuuut because of some voices from above, they decided to go to, Biker Mice from Mars which was stupid in my own opinion. If they aired Code Geass back then before TV5 aired it then HERO will not receive this kind of criticism that they “stole” Code Geass! 

If only they aired CG earlier, this would not happen.

Since they are getting Code Geass, then I should wait on how they will dub the show. I mean, the original Filipino dub have problems such as the mispronunciation of the term, Geass and heavy comments on the voice acting which later thanks to constructive criticism, it improved. If Vincent Gutierrez will return in the HERO TV dub as Lelouch then I would be really happy.

Since HERO is airing this, there is a thin chance that it will air on ABS-CBN but maybe CG would end up like Keikaishi. Let’s just hope that the HERO dub will sound good since the TV5 dub left quite an impact on me. Like this:
