Yume-Miru Kikai, also known as The Dream Machine and known to be as Satoshi Kon's last work before his passing, has officially resume its production as announced by the animation studio, MADHOUSE.
Acting over the late Satoshi Kon's (Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers) place as director is Character designer and chief animation director, Yoshimi Itazu (DennÅ Coil) while Toshiyuki Inoue (Blood: The Last Vampire, Paprika) will serve is now serving as joint animation director. Susumu Hirasawa (Paprika, Berserk) will compose the music.
To those who don't know, Director Satoshi Kon passed away last August 24 while he was working on his fifth feature film. Kon said in his final online message that he talked with MADHOUSE founder Masao Maruyama about his last film being incomplete. Kon said that Murayama assured him, "It's fine. Don't worry, we'll do whatever it takes."
