It seems that Junichi has competition in terms of troll faces...
In this episode, Eiji spends most of the time being love drunk and Date is not happy about her old friend becoming not herself. Oh, and OOO Shauta Combo makes its splashing debut while doing BLACK RX’s Bio Rider moves!
If I would summarize this entire episode into one character, that would be Date. No seriously, even if OOO Shauta Combo makes it debut in its episode, plot wise, it never felt very significant considering that the entire episode is more about Date and reconnecting with his old friend from Africa, Yumi and helping her snap out from her being driven by her desire.
Asides that it talks about Date’s past with Yumi back in Africa, we also saw more of his skills outside being Birth. Turned out to be he is travelling with doctors back then and learned some things from them. Also, we are given more hints about Date’s darker past, what are those hints? I will not tell you much since it is up for you to find it out.
This aspect of this episode that would either entertain you or you will hate it. Asides that we have a bit of character derailment in some characters like the serious Gotou suddenly getting a large fan to hit Eiji and Kazari waiting for Hina and Ankh to “fix” Eiji instead of attacking them like every evil house cat does.

So yeah, the scene on your right basically sum ups what Eiji was in the entire episode... and it irritated every character in this series less Chiyoko, in which Maki saw a discount card with her picture on that she gave to Date in the previous ep. Yep, we are now given hints about some changes on Maki in the following episodes!
As for OOO Shauta Combo, it was awesome. Asides that it has the abilities similar to BLACK RX’s Bio Rider, I love the battle tentacles and the underwater fight scenes. Too bad, the amount of CGI made it a bit unwatchable in some areas.
As for the finisher, it is one heck of a finisher. Asides that the tentacles formed into a drill thing, the fact that he binds the Yummy first BEFORE hitting it with his tentacles that formed into a drill, it actually gives us fans quite an assurance that this finisher will hit the enemy unlike the main combo with quite a problem with hitting the Yummy… I am looking at you, OOO Tatoba Combo!

Overall, this is a Date focused episode even if it is billed as the episode where OOO Shauta Combo will make its debut. In short, it is not a very special episode, but the amounts of love we have for Date (and as for the ladies, you have received quite an amount of love) and give us more bits of his life prior on becoming Birth. As for OOO Shauta Combo’s debut, it was fine; the lack of his own theme music was one of the reasons why this Combo’s debut felt “fine” even if he made quite an awesome debut.
In the next episode, a bird Yummy will make its appearance and according to the episode title, Ankh’s left arm! Finally, this is getting more interesting!
