I heard a zowazowa and it is Zangyack's new Action Officer, Pachacamac XIII, a master of Magnet-ken! Because the two are defeated by the Action Officer, Ahim and later, Don (after seeing Red, Blue and Yellow's training methods) train under Jan Kandou to defeat this kenpou master!
Unlike the previous tribute episode in which Ban only appeared at the end, in this episode Jan is quite involved with the Rangers. What's more is that he didn't act like the Jan we know from Gekiranger during most scenes which he is involved! In my opinion, this shows how matured Jan has become after he along with Ran and Retsu sealed Long inside the ball that he is wearing right now.
The Ranger that has quite an amount of focus in this episode is Don. Unlike Ahim who decides to join the rest of the kids in learning kenpou, Doc here is quite reluctant at first until he sees Marvelous' and Luka's training methods and oh, after he remembers what Ahim told him about Joe's training in the fourth episode.
In my opinion, Doc is the weakest in the entire team and like what the Magiranger tribute episode established, he is needs a little "pushing" before he starts doing something. In this episode's case, seeing others train and him having a feeling that he is the only team member who is a bit "left out." I kinda liked this setup for Don and at the end of this episode, he does a little kung-fu to Marvelous who doesn't follow table manners!
Even this episode is really good, there is only one disappointment, their Gokai Change into the Gekirangers in this episode doesn't have the tribute special effects like that of the previous two episodes. I mean, they can just do the the group transformation sequence for the Gekirangers as seen in this tribute video! Also another minor disappointment, Master Xia Fu only appeared at the end of the episode and try ring his triangle... with Jan ringing it instead, which gives the Gekirangers a full circle in terms of master-student relationship.
As for the GokaiOh upgrade once the Gekiranger Key is inserted, I liked that they can summon the GekiBeast along with the SaiDain (which for those who haven't watched the series is a giant rock and not a spirit, like the rest of them)... and can defeat the boss in one blow! EPIC!
As for the two Gokai Changes asides from the Gekiranger, Gaoranger and Sun Vulcan, I love that Luka does a growl and them acting like the Gaorangers but what is impressive is the Sun Vulcan Gokai Change. Dang, I was blown away with the fight scenes and how awesome the three Gokaigers used the Sun Vulcan Keys, which caused to be interested with this show! Guess I might try watching some episodes online.
Overall, it was a good tribute episode, but not as good as the previous tribute episode. At first I thought the reason why this tribute is not that good is because I assumed that Naruhisa Arakawa wrote this episode but it turns out that the writer of this episode was Junko KÅmura, who once wrote for Go-Onger and Goseiger!
But hey, it was one fun episode and they did a good job in playing more on the Ranger Key concept being inserted inside the GokaiOh and shows us more possibilities that asides from gaining a new auxiliary mecha, they can earn an ability related to the team.
