This year's 10th issue of Young Animal magazine is announcing on Friday that Detroit Metal City creator, Kiminori Wakasugi will launch a new comedy manga series called Kappei in the next issue on May 27.
According to the tongue-in-cheek advertising, "when the times need him the least, a hero will appear!!" Wakasugi launched Detroit Metal City in the same magazine in 2005, and he ended the series in April of last year.
Wakasugi's Detroit Metal City was adapted into a 12-episode OVA and a live-action film starting Ken'ichi Matsuyama (Gantz, Death Note, NANA) in the lead role.
