Months ago, we have reported that the anime adaptation of Fate/Zero is on the works and fans wonder when will this new anime will be released. It was revealed by Yuki Kajiura's (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, .hack, Noir, Kara no Kyoukai) Twitter status update that this anime will premiere this October! Kajiura is in-charged with the show's music.
Fate/Zero takes place 10 years prior to the events of Fate/stay night, detailing the events of the 4th Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City. The War of the Holy Grail, pursuing the power of the "Holy Grail" which grants a miracle, this is a contest in which seven magi summon seven Heroic Spirits to compete for it. In that battle whose conclusion was postponed three times, now, the fourth war commenced again.
This prequel also shows us the relationship between Saber (voiced by Ayako Kawasumi) and Shirou's foster father, Kiritsugu Emiya (voiced by Rikiya Koyama) and how the events of this series affected Fate/stay night.
Ei Aoki (Hourou Musuko, Ga-Rei: Zero, Girls Bravo) is directing at the anime studio ufotable, and Tomonori Sudou (Coyote Ragtime Show, Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners) and Atsushi Ikariya are adapting the original character designs by novel illustrator Takashi Takeuchi (Fate/stay night, Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners, Tsukihime, Lunar Legend).
