In this episode, Tatsuya and co. are busy moving in their new apartment and since saving the world doesn’t give you cash and they have rent to mind of, Tatsuya decided to give each Ranger a job based on their specialty, all of them have jobs except Ayase. As the episode progressed, we learned Ayase’s forgotten dream.
The episode is more like how Tatsuya can soften the cold Ayase more. As revealed in the previous episode, it seems that Ayase has some problem with the future that he doesn’t care much about it, till Tatsuya gave his speech about changing the future. One thing I noticed about Ayase is that he really wants to die early. The fact that he wants to die early gives me an idea that he has this problem, which causes him to forgot what it means to live life to the fullest. Interesting.
Another thing I can note in this episode is Tatsuya is indeed not your average Red Ranger due to his sunny disposition and the fact that he is more like the team “heart” rather than the team leader. Also, we finally learn why Domon retired from being an MMA fighter, it turns out that he was late in one of his major matches!
The episode also discloses the theory of the VolArsenals being Green and Yellow exclusives thanks to Pink, Red and Blue using the other Arsenals in battle and form the VolTech Bazooka to freeze the MOTW… and failed since the MOTW decided to peel the sticker to prevent the cyrostasis process. Another thing to note with the suit fights is that they added more space opera-esque moves, which reminded me again of The Matrix and a bit of Star Wars.
Finally, to what the episode is all about asides from Ayase’s problem, the formation of the agency called Tomorrow Research. I love the logic in each of their respective jobs and them actually forging papers for Ayase so that he can do his job as a professional chauffeur or in simple terms, professional driver. Also, Tac’s “dock” in which he sits on it and all the data coming from the future being transmitted inside an old PC.
Overall, it was a fun episode since finally, the most forgotten member of the Timerangers, Ayase has given proper spotlight in this episode. Also, seeing the once empty apartment having things in it is a fun sight to watch along with Tatsuya convincing Domon to wear the uniform he made. Now, next on Timeranger, Sion is kidnapped! NO!!!
