Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Anime Announced!

The upcoming August issue of Monthly Gundam Ace will announce that the new anime project will be the anime adaptation of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko!

The manga is the re-imagining of the very first Mobile Suit Gundam anime except some few minor additions such as the rise of Zeon, a more detailed look on Char's backstory and the development of the Mobile Suits while retaining the same story and events that happened in the original anime. To put it simply, Sunrise's excuse to have a remake of the original Gundam anime in HD.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin took place in the year Universal Century 0079, and the eighth month of a vicious war between the Earth Federation and a breakaway nation of space colonists, the Principality of Zeon. The story follows the crew of the ship White Base, as they fight to ferry the experimental RX-78 Gundam Mobile Suit to the Federation base at Jaburo.

And like the original anime, Sunrise is in-charge with the animation.

Gives me more reasons to re-watch the original Gundam anime and write a review about it! Also, I find it Sunrise's way of saying sorry to its hardcore UC fans due to Gundam AGE.
