Today is Valentine's Day and two websites, OCN and Recochoku posted their own respective Valentine's Day character surveys! In Japan, women give chocolates to men on February 14, and men return the favor on White Day which is on March 14, a month after Valentine's Day.
Recochoku's survey was conducted between January 18 and February 1, they asked its users which character they want to give chocolates to — and receive chocolates from. The results from the self-selected pool of 1,735 respondents are as follows:

1. Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
2. Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
3. Shōta Kazehaya (Kimi ni Todoke)
Anime Characters I Want to Receive Chocolates from
1. Yui Hirasawa (K-ON!!)
2. Mio Akiyama (K-ON!!)
3. Azusa Nakano (K-ON!!)
OCN too has the same style of survey but instead of listing a top 3, they listed a top 5 in both categories.

1. Natsuru Senō (Kämpfer)
2. Ikaros (Sora no Otoshimono/Heaven's Lost Property)
3. Miyako Miyamura (ef - a tale of memories)
4. Kazuha Migiwa (Yosuga no Sora)
5. Kiraha Kirihara (Kagihime Monogatari - Eikyuu Alice Rondo)
Anime Characters I Want to Give Chocolates to
1. Takuto Tsunashi (Star Driver Kagayaki no Takuto)
2. Aoshi Shinomori (Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan)
3. Kei Agemaki (Otome Yōkai Zakuro)
4. Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
5. Reinhard von Lohengramm (Legend of the Galactic Heroes)
As you can see, only Gintoki appeared in both polls. I guess the reason for vastly different results is because of the target audience of each website. OCN is a website whose target is anime and tokusatsu while Recochoku is a Japanese music distributor.
