That's what I thought about her at first until I saw this tribute episode! In this episode, she talks with the kidnapper like just some ordinary commoner, defended herself while her teammates are worried sick about her and thinks that she was kidnapped by the Zangyack Empire!
To start this review, the Zangyack plot in this episode didn't stand out, what stand out here is that the monster of the week felt more like the victim since he was falsely accused by the pirates of kidnapping Ahim, what's more is that Ahim lied that he was the kidnapper with her actions! Well guess she is not your average princess after all!
Now to what the episode is all about, Ahim not acting like a princess. To easily describe her actions in this episode, she is simply Gokaiger's answer to Pirates of the Caribbean's Elizabeth Swan, a once pampered lady who ended up becoming part of Jack Sparrow's pirate troupe and they were able to properly establish this fact well in this episode.
She still keeps her manners as a princess but what really stands out here is how she defended herself from her kidnapper and from Zangyack. Another thing that I liked about this episode is that her role as the "team mom" and "negotiator" was properly cemented when she helped her kidnapper to change his ways.
Outside the Ahim focus in this episode, we have in my opinion, the most amount of out of suit fights which is one of the things that stand out in this episode along with the fact mentioned earlier that our pirates thought that Ahim was kidnapped by the Zangyack!
Overall, it was a really good character episode that dissolved the fact that Ahim is a princess who waits for his prince charming who rides a white horse and rescue her from harm.
