Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger 08 - Little Spy Tactics

In this episode of Gokaiger, the Damaras and Insarn finally showed their competence and their back stabbing capabilities as they summon the Sneak Brothers in which the elder brother sneaks inside the Gokai Galleon! Meanwhile, back at the Gokai Galleon, it seems that everyone is into baseball, Doc is not in a good mood and lastly, Tabane Navi is missing!

Now, how to start this review? Oh yes. Finally, those two showed their competence and why does it take them at least 8 episodes just for Insarn and Damaras to do something! If there is something that I noticed about this episode is that these two have a possibility to back stab Oiles Gil in case Emperor Zangyack will make his onscreen appearance.

On the scene in which they proved that they are competent villains, we learned the lives of our four pirates before becoming Rangers. Asides that it confirms mostly what we have known months back (Joe being part of Zangyack, Ahim being a princess, etc.), the scene also adds additional facts about them... and confirms which One Piece character that they might be based upon. I liked it.

As for the Monster of the Week, the Sneak Brothers compared to the other comedic relief MOTW, these boys are really great! The chemistry between Elder and Younger also, I love their antics along with Elder's mad ninja sneaking skillz. As for their attacks, not that memorable due to how good the comedy scenes are!

As for the overall episode plot about Doc worrying that they only unlocked 3 Super Sentai powers which later leads them to discover that Navi is missing, it was fun to watch because it leads us to various hilarious interactions with Elder who is trying his best to hide! This episode is also one major turning point in the series as Damaras and Insarn learned the purpose on why these pirates are still on Earth and also, this is the only filler episode that featured Navi doing a treasure search.

For this week's Gokai Changes, I love the updated effects on the Denziman scenes especially the Denzi Punch scenes, so cool! As for the Goggle V fight scenes, still quite bothered that they highlight the team as a "rhythmic gymnastics" team even if according to their Wikipedia entry mentions that GoggleRed is a mountain climber and GoggleBlack is a janitor. As for the Gaoranger scenes, love the fact that they say, "Gao" every time they attack!

For the final battle, it was... weird especially the Gokai Bat. Also, this is the only episode so far that features both an opening mecha fight scene and a closing fight scene and featured two Legend Machines in one episode.

Overall, it was one fun episode due to the Sneak Brothers and the plot about Navi went missing felt like a sub plot for the Elder Sneak Brother to shine and wasn't given much proper focus. One of the things that I can highly praise about this episode is that we finally had a chance to see how competent Oiles Gil's subordinates are.
