Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger 10 – Not Lost in Translation

Remember that episode from Power Rangers Dino Thunder in which the three Dino Thunder Rangers are watching one episode of Abaranger and Connor tends to overreact in every ridiculous scene he sees? Guess what, I am reviewing the actual episode.

To sum up every detail about this episode that would be baseball player Bunds having back problems, Yukito fixes his back and about major mushroom hair problems which causes people to get addicted in everything that is related to money. I guess I understand why Connor tends to overreact in this episode, it is so ridiculous… and I love it! I love Sentai comedy fillers and this is one of my personal faves. From Bunds expression until Yukito’s really weird curry, I love every detail in it! To top it all off, the cartoonish special effects in some scenes.

Another side plot of this episode is Yukito being offered by Bunds to become MLB’s private chiropractor. To those who watched the earlier episodes of Abaranger, Yukito doesn’t want to become an Abaranger even if he transformed into one by mere chance. But thanks to Ryoga’s attitude, he agrees to join the team. Seeing him reject Bunds’ offer to become MLB’s private chiropractor shows Yukito grew up from his money loving ways.

Overall, it is one heck of an episode and the fact that this filler episode was used as the seventh (?) Sentai episode to air in American in gag dub form and the episode to introduce American kids to Super Sentai is something since it is too colorful for kids not to resist watching it and can cause them to research its origins. No seriously, this episode is too colorful. One final note in this episode, if you watched the original Dino Thunder episode that was gag dubbed, you’ll notice a lot of cuts, which includes: Bunds kissing Yukito, Yukito’s daydream, the giant robot scene and Bunds eating Yukito’s curry.
