Squall's Leon Costume on Dissidia 012!

For Kingdom Hearts fans, rejoice! We have reported earlier that Squall's Leon Costume from Kingdom Hearts will be available in Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy and just recently, the first pictures of this costume has just surfaced online!

People in Japan will be able to grab this costume via a download code in the April issue of V-Jump magazine which goes on sale this February 21st. While as for Europeans, they will have access on the Leon Costume via the Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy Legacy Edition, it is still unknown if this costume will be available outside those mentioned areas.

Gilgamesh Loves Changing Weapons on Dissidia 012!

In the recent scan from V-Jump, it was revealed that Final Fantasy V's Gilgamesh has the an array of weapons in his disposal! It seems that Cosmos' side will have quite a problem with this guy, especially Bartz.

Being a weapon collector, Gilgamesh brings a number of arms into a fight. Each time he attacks he changes weapons. It sounds like you won’t know which sword Gilgamesh uses for each strike because he doesn’t even know himself. During what appears to be Gilgamesh’s EX-Burst, he drew the powerful Excalibur sword... finally!

The said magazine also mentions that they will give readers a code to download Squall's Leon costume for the said game. This costume is also available in Europe's Dissidia 02 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy Legacy Edition. As of press time, Square-Enix hasn't mention any plans in releasing this extra outfit in North America.

A Glimpse of Gilgamesh on Dissidia 012!

"Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men, women, and women who dress like men! For Gilgamesh, it's MORPHING TIME!" - Gilgamesh

It was confirmed months ago that Gilgamesh will appear in the upcoming prequel/sequel of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy. Just recently, his first official appearance in the game that is not game artwork or smoke has surfaced!

So far, we have no additional info about Gilgamesh in Dissidia 012, asides that he will appear in the game as part of Chaos' group, collect some swords and still owns some Genji Equipment... which you can still in the original Final Fantasy V game!

Terra, Cloud and Tidus Aligns With Chaos!

It was earlier hinted on the 1st Production Department Premiere Trailer that Jecht will be part of Cosmos' side and Terra, Cloud and Tidus will align themselves with Chaos! Just recently, asides that Square-Enix Europe releases a subbed version of the said trailer (verifying what most fans wonder), the official covers of the official Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy Soundtrack was released on their official website!

All characters found on Cosmos' side is featured on the front cover (left) and oddly enough, Kain Highwind of FFIV who has a long history of backstabbing and being mind controlled by Golbez is found on Cosmos side!

While all characters found on Chaos' side is featured on the back cover (right). Not surprised with Terra and Cloud being part of Chaos side, you know, they have the history of having no memories of their own and oh, Terra has this history of wearing a certain Slave Crown. As for Tidus being part of Chaos' side, based on the subbed trailer, it seems that he is brainwashed to join their side.

The official soundtrack will be released in Japan this March 2, a day before the actual release of the said game. If you are wondering what are the songs found in the soundtrack, based on the tracklist found in their official website, most of them are remixes of old Final Fantasy tunes with some original tracks made for the game.

Special thanks to Siliconera for the info!

Aya Hirano Voices Prishe for Dissidia 012!

There are rumors going around that she will stop doing voice over work because of her focusing on other things like a play or having a new album, but just recently, this rumor has been proven false because she will voice Final Fantasy XI's other representative, Prishe!

Prishe was first seen on the 1st Production Department Premiere Trailer of the game in which he approached the helmet-less Warrior of Light and so far, it is not yet confirmed on which side is she part of but most of them assumed that she is part of Chaos side due to Shantotto being part of Cosmos side in the previous game.

Her combat style is Combo Maker, described as freely combining moves and chaining them into special attacks. She attacks using a combination of White Magic and Monk Weapon Skills, such as Howling Fist and Backhand Blow for Brave Attacks, and her two trademark moves from Final Fantasy XI, Auroral Uppercut and Nullifying Dropkick, as HP Attacks. Her EX Burst is Shining Five.

Dissidia 012 : Final Fantasy 1st Production Department Premiere Trailer

Sorry for the long title but it is for us to differentiate it with the other trailers that surfaced earlier. Anyways, this is the latest trailer that was released yesterday on Square-Enix's 1st Production Department Conference in which we are revealed of a Final Fantasy XIII-2, XIII Agito renamed as Type-0, and more stuff regarding Dissidia 012!

In this trailer, alternate costumes of Jecht and Tidus where shown, Yuna is not anymore a feet, I mean, she is officially revealed. Prishe trolls some guy and yes, Gilgamesh is trolling Bartz at the Rift. So for ladies who are still dressing up as men, it's morphin' time! Also, at the near end of the trailer, a scene of Aerith assisting Cloud in Dissidia 012 Prologus: Final Fantasy was shown.

Gilgamesh (FFV) & Prishe (FFXI) Confirmed on Dissidia 012!

The wandering swordsman from FFV known for his Genji Equipment and his constant search of the sword called, Excalibur (which he end up getting an Excalipur), Gilgamesh is confirmed to be part of Chaos' side in Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy and also, FFXI's Prishe will part of the roster!

His appearance was confirmed on the the trailer first seen on the first production press conference in which he popped out at the end of the trailer saying, "It's been a long time, Bartz." To those who don't know, in FFV (which I just observed my younger brother playing with), he had a heated rivalry with Bartz Klauser. The picture that is found on top of this page is his official artwork in which hackers discovered while hacking Dissidia 012 Prologus.

Aside from that, Prishe from FFXI is part of the roster as seen in the trailer. It is not sure which side she will be part off.

Dissidia 012 Prologus is a Paid Demo

Dissidia Duodecim [012] Prologus is a trademark that suddenly appeared. Many fans speculated that this might be a prologue to the events that will happen in Dissidia 012 while some speculate it as a paid demo of the game to get them hype with the finish product... and they are right. Yep, this game is a paid demo.

Square Enix formally announced it at their press event (which also confirms a FFXIII-2). It’s coming to PlayStation Network now and it exclusively adds Final Fantasy VII character Aerith/Aeris as an assist character! This demo will have an original short scenario and an arcade mode. You can get it for 300 yen or about $3.75. Take note, you must buy the game for you to play Aerith!

Special thanks to Siliconera!

Yuna Confirmed on Dissidia 012!

Her feet was hinted on the Jump Fiesta Trailer, and now, on the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, it is confirmed that Yuna will appear on Dissidia 012, and yup, she will summon monsters!

In the scan, she has the ability to control two Aeons (the name of the summoned monsters on FFX) at the same time. The magazine has a screenshot that shows Yuna controlling Shiva and Ixion for simultaneous attacks. She is also said to summon King Bahamut in the game.

Her EX Burst is somewhat translated to as, Sending Off to the Spirit World, this attack makes Yuna call all of her Aeons for a consecutive set of attacks!

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy Jump Fiesta Trailer!

Here is the latest trailer coming from the Jump Fiesta of the upcoming sequel of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Dissidia Duodecim [012]: Final Fantasy!

In this latest trailer, we have seen the new Assist feature in which we saw Tifa and Cloud beat Sephy and Squall and his dad, Laguna fighting Ultimencia. Also, we have the glimpse of the classic world wandering that Final Fantasy is known for with Vaan (which is not voiced by Otoya *sad*) and Terra in one party. For FFX fans out there, there is a major surprise for you guys in the trailer!

Laguna Loire on Dissidia 012!

This is one surprising addition for Final Fantasy VIII fans. Most fans of the series expect either Rinoa or Seifer but we have Squall's bumbling yet lovable father, Laguna Loire as revealed in the latest scan of Jump!

He still carries his signature outfit from FFVIII and his signature weapon, a machine gun. According to the said scan, he will act as the big brother to the Warriors of Cosmos... not sure if he will act like a father to Squall! Anyways, this is the second time we have a father and son in Dissidia. The first was with FFX with Tidus and Jecht.

His EX Burst is called Full Salvo in which in this scan, he used it to fight against Ultimencia (pictured on the left). On your right, you see him use his machine gun to fight Ultimencia!

Now I am starting to wonder, when will Square-Enix add an additional character for Chaos' side? I demand Gilgamesh from FFV! One thing I noticed about Laguna, he kinda looks like a gender bend version of Tifa. Just remove the jacket, and give him gloves, he kinda looks like her. Now I understand Squall...

FFVI and FFXII Dissidia 012 Alternate Costume Galore!

On the first Alternate Costume Galore entry, we have FFIV and FFVII on the spotlight! On the latest scan, we have more costumes for FFVI and FFXII!

For FFVI, we have a better looking Amano Terra and Kefka! It seems that Terra wears a costume similar to Celes Chere from FFVI, which cause me to mistaken her as Celes in an earlier scan (Which all fans agree the contrast to Terra's element) and Kefka's costume is quite similar to his Amano alternate costume.

For FFXII, Gabranth wears Basch's first outfit in FFXII as well as a close look at Vaan's Amano. What's also cool is that if you look at the gameplay, you can see Vaan using a gun!

Kouhei Takeda - Not Vaan in Dissidia 012

Kouhei Takeda, aside from portraying Otoya Kurenai from Kamen Rider Kiva, he also lend his voice in Final Fantasy XII for the character, Vaan. With Vaan being announced to be part of the Dissidia 012 roster, most fans assume that Takeda will return to voice the said character, but we are dead wrong.

Accordingly, because of of conflicts with his agency, it prevented Takeda to record lines for Vaan. But because of high demand coming from fans to want him back to Dissidia 012, Nomura decided to include him and his voice actor was replaced by Kensha Ono (Toy Story 3, Harry Potter, Tsubasa Chronicle, Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces).

Notably, Takeda mentioned in one of his older blog post something like this:
Hey, Square Enix-san. Is that work with Vaan going to appear? I’m waiting (lol)

Vaan Confirmed on Dissidia 012

After much speculation after Bobby Edner, Vaan's English voice actor in Final Fantasy XII that he recorded some lines for a new Final Fantasy game, it is confirmed, Vaan will indeed appear in Duodecim according to the latest issue of Shonen Jump.

Vaan would be the second character coming from FFXII to be included in the game. The first was Gabranth who was a secret character in the previous game along with Shantotto of FFXI. Based on the list of new characters, is it me, or Chaos' side lacks manpower? Come on, Squenix, add Gilgalmesh from FFV already!

A blurred shot of him fighting.

Vaan performing his EX Burst!

Vaan meeting a girl... based on the color of the outfit, not sure if this is Terra. Since this is yellow, maybe this is... CELES! (Hyperventilates and later, calms down slowly till he waits for the actual confirmation)

Dissidia 012 Screenshots: FFVII Goodness

TIFA KIIIIIIIIICK!

The latest scans of the upcoming PSP Final Fantasy game, Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy, has been released, and it seems we will see more love for Final Fantasy VII (No surprise.). Aside from Tifa's artwork, we have more screenshots on the scenes that she will appear along with Cloud who is donning his new costume for the said game!

Yes, it is confirmed, Tifa's alternate costume obviously, is her outfit in FFVII: Advent Children, much like Cloud's. Aww, no love for Cowboy Tifa?

Note: The pic on top was taken from the first scan that my source had, I decided not to include it here because on the said scan, we only had Tifa's full body shot artwork and that's it along with that Tifa kick shot.

Dissidia 012 - Alternate Costume Galore!

On the latest scan, we saw more alternate costumes for the upcoming Disssidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy game! And it seems, more love for FFIV and FFVII! Since it is a whole scan, I decided to castrate? it for your own viewing pleasure.

First, Final Fantasy IV.

First, Cecil's new alternate costumes are his outfits first seen in the Final Fantasy IV DS remake. In case you played the game, we never had the chance to see this form in action aside from the opening sequence of the DS game.

To remind you, here's the opening sequence of the DS remake:

Golbez's alternate costume is his outfit in the Cellphone/Wii game, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, which was set seventeen years after the original game. In the said game, he was first identified as the Man in Black that appeared in Rydia's Chapter.

 Now, Final Fantasy VII.

Cloud's alternate costume is his Yoshitaka Amano artwork (on your right).

And Sepiroth's alternate costume is his original outfit in Final Fantasy VII.

More Tifa on Dissidia 012 Info!

For Tifa fans out there, here are more additional information regarding Tifa's appearance in Dissidia 012. As we all know, her appearance was confirmed in the last scene on the extended Dissidia 012 trailer.

It is confirmed via her Twitter account that her VA in the English version, Rachael Leigh Cook, who did her voice in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will reprise her role in the upcoming game. Aside from that, we have a glimpse on her gameplay in the latest scan (See left.)

Her EX Mode is Equipped Premium Heart, which allows her to equip her strongest weapon in FFVII. Aside from that, her EX Burst allows her to use her infamous slot machine type Limit Break! Yes, those Hit!, Yeah! and Miss! boxes will appear in Duodecim.

And like you have all guessed, Tifa's alternate costume, just like Cloud in the previous game, is the costume she wore in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy Extended Trailer

Here's the extended trailer of Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy that was first seen in the Tokyo Game Show 2010.

Aside that we saw Kefka-sama (YESSS!), Cloud and Kuja, we have a glimpse of Tifa Lockhart, another confirmed character to join the ranks of the Warriors of Cosmos.

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy Trailer

I've been mushing about this for a while aside from the fact that Kain is here, and so, I finally found the Tokyo Game Show 2010 trailer of this said game!

Ah, Kain. A traitor as always. No wonder you are one of my faves in the original game because you are unpredictable!

Edited: Posted a better quality of the video, also in if you want a much better quality of the trailer, go to their official website.

Tifa is on Dissidia 012 + More Background

In this low quality shot, it is confirmed that Tifa Lockhart will appear on Dissidia 012 in her Final Fantasy VIII outfit! Not much is known about her role, but as seen in the 2010 Tokyo Game Show, she spoke to Sepiroth in which we learned that she will be part of the warrior of Cosmos.

In an interview, they stated on how they select the characters. It is by random and Takahashi, one of the developers of the game stated that he will not do Dissidia 012 if Tifa will not be included!

Also, in the said interview, we now learned one of the reasons behind the title. Aside from the fact that Duodecim means "twelve" in Latin, this game would be the prequel to the first Dissidia game considering that the first game is the 13th battle between Cosmos and Chaos and also, it marked the end of the battle between them.

Tifa confronting Sephy.

Aside from that, you can download Cloud and Lightning's unique alternate costumes if you do the following:

For Lighting: If you pre-order Paradise Eve: The Third Birthday, you can get a code to download her outfit that makes her look like Aya Brea.
For Cloud: By pre-ordering Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Remix, you will get a code to download Cloud's KH outfit... finally!

Also, here are some EX Mode/Burst shots!

This is Kain's EX Mode which transforms him into a Holy Dragoon, first seen in the mobile game/Wii, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. The name of his EX Burst is Pride of the Dragoon.

In her EX Mode, she will swap her Blazefire Saber for a Equipped Omega Weapon. Her EX Burst is called Zantetzuken.
